A heartwarming video of a blind mastiff being assisted by his canine sister surfaced on the internet and left everyone overwhelmed. The video was originally posted to TikTok on 16th June, 2025, by @thelifeofphilly, Paige Parker, 30, of Adelaide, Australia. She happens to be the proud owner of the two lovely dogs: Bear, a mastiff breed, and Peach, a Staffordshire bull terrier mix. The clip not only captured Peach’s helping nature but also the strong bond between the two dogs. As reported by Newsweek, Bear is completely blind; thus, he often struggles with locating things, be it his toys or house items. But there's one who is always ready for his rescue — Peach — who doesn't have to be asked to aid him in his tasks.

@thelifeofphilly These 2 melt my heart 😭 We always wanted a vision and hearing doggo to help our future vision impaired one and we couldn’t be happier with their bond 😍 @Pikelet Butterwiggle still has a few of peaches siblings up for adoption 🫶🏻 #adopt #dogs #blinddog #blinddogsoftiktok #blinddogawareness #dogbestfriends #dogsofttiktok ♬ Sweet Love - Myles Smith

Parker also shared with Newsweek how Peach always steps in to help out her brother, Bear, when required, even if it is to find his way back from a walk. In the video, Peach can be seen standing near Bear’s ball until he is able to sniff and locate it himself. Bear bounded across the backyard, in a heated hunt for the ball, but after several minutes of a failed search, he went to Peach for help. Immediately, Peach was on her toes and off to the lawn. The connection between the dogs is so strong that Peach immediately knew what Bear wanted.

@thelifeofphilly Never fails to amaze me how incredible his sense of smell is, such a smart boy ❤️ #adopt #dogs #blinddog #blinddogsoftiktok #blinddogawareness #dogbestfriends #dogsofttiktok #fetch ♬ original sound - Life of P

The TikTok video of the duo has attracted heavy attention so far, reaching a count of 273,000 views and more than 42,000 likes in a matter of days. The video was captioned, "These 2 melt my heart. We always wanted a vision and hearing doggo to help our future vision impaired one and we couldn’t be happier with their bond. @Pikelet Butterwiggle still has a few of Peach's siblings up for adoption." Parker shared how she proudly adopted Bear from the rescue 'Hear No Evil,' when he was only 5 months old, and Peach from 'Life of Pikelet.'

Bear’s complete blindness was a result of complications his mother went through during pregnancy. She had a caesarean in which out of her eight puppies, Bear was the sole survivor. During nursing, Bear’s mother was dealing with an infection that unfortunately reached Bear and affected his eyesight. The owner informed Newsweek that Bear’s eyes started to bulge as a puppy due to the infection when he was still at the rescue, and so everyone raised funds to get them removed.

@thelifeofphilly As you can see Peach has to be kept on the load near roads because she’s chaos, whereas Bear follows close behind ❤️ #adopt #dogs #blinddog #blinddogsoftiktok #blinddogawareness #dogbestfriends ♬ Good Day - Nappy Roots

Over the years, Bear has memorized the house and learned all the areas for smoother navigation. He also relies on his sense of smell to locate everything — Peach, his toys, his food, and more. Parker also shared with Newsweek how she hopes that with the video going viral, more people will open up to the idea of adopting rescue dogs and blind-deaf dogs, suggesting that their maintenance isn't as tough as portrayed. There is a constant bias against adopting blind or deaf dogs due to their extra care, expenses, and maintenance. A telephone survey of 50 blind dogs was conducted, in which 28 owners had met individuals who told them it was cruel to keep a blind dog.

The viral video gathered numerous comments and support from other users. @hallehitchins commented, "omg this melts my heart." @oceaninnature wrote, "Animals could definitely teach humanity about humility."

@rc2lee expressed, "how sweet he asked her for help. The best relationship ever. Wish we as humans were more like them, pure of heart." "That actually made me emotional... animals have way more complex emotions and behaviors than we actually think," @aiuxa96 exclaimed.
