Border Collie holds his favorite toy for support after King Kong 'attacks' heroine—people are obsessed

Have you ever made your dog watch something on TV? Watching them react to moving images on the television will undoubtedly have you falling off your seat with laughter. Similarly, Stephen Kelleher who runs an Instagram page (@barney_the_tv_border_collie) captured her dog Barney's reaction to an action sequence in "King Kong." 

With his favorite toy in his mouth, Barney looked stressed as he watched the movie. Initially calm and composed, Barney lost his temper the minute he watched King Kong 'attack' the heroine on the screen. He took a little step back and almost jumped on the TV as if showing his support to the heroine. He kept on moving back and forth while still holding his toy. Interestingly, if you look closely, the toy that Barney is holding tight is that of a monkey teddy —like the one he was watching onscreen. Sharing more about the precious moment, Kelleher wrote, "Barney likes the fact the girl is brave and says 'No,'" interpreting his pet's perspective. 

Meanwhile, reacting to the video, @tonymcloughlin commented, "We don’t deserve dogs, he’s ready to go to war against a monster gorilla for a woman he doesn’t even know." Similarly, @matt wrote, "Barney has the heart of a hero beating in his chest. Some move forward. Some retreat." @sepidehalexandramemand commented, "When you see that he is upset by such scenes, you should hold him in your arms to comfort him and turn off the TV!" @bejunaomi_ wrote, "Did you guys install the buffer zone(table) for Barney when he gets too emotionally invested in the movie and pounces? Also, I love how he always has a matching toy for the movie he really is one of a kind." @cynthiawhite commented, "I don’t know how you can hold the camera still - I would be laughing so hard!! Barney is absolutely fascinating!"

While many appreciated the video, few raised questions about putting Barney through so much tension and stress. For instance, @rhondahessenberger wrote, "When you first see Barney react, it's cute! I know you believe it's harmless the way he's reacting, It's not! These shows/movies are making him very emotional." @tracyhays wrote, "Why traumatize your dog? He/she will have disturbing nightmares. This is cruel!" @rascalspack commented, "Stop stressing your dog out…It’s not a toy or tool for Instagram..not everyone should have the privilege of a canine companion." @hankjr.schallenberger wrote, "My Sheltie used to do the same thing when we watched football. She used to wait for them to hike the ball and then swing her toy around."

Notably, Kelleher who often shares hilarious videos of Barney watching television, had posted yet another Instagram clip of the dog watching "The Lion King." This time too, Barney was holding his monkey toy while watching the film. The pooch looked a little emotional and sat down comfortably but what he did next would instantly make you teary-eyed. When Mufasa lay next to his dad, Masego, Barney dropped his toy and kissed it as if assuring he was not going away. "Barney kisses his toy when Simba lies down next to his dad," Kelleher revealed in the video caption.
