As reported by Brides, TikTok user Michaela Pearson, who goes by the handle @michlivinlife, shared a surprising story about her mom’s diamond wedding ring suddenly going missing, and how their family dog, Amber, ended up at the center of it all.

In a video posted on March 10, 2024, Michaela explained that her mom called her in tears after realizing her diamond wedding ring had vanished. “My mom called me crying yesterday morning, saying she lost her diamond ring…” the text in the video read. After turning the house upside down and assuming the worst, the family noticed their pet behaving strangely. That is when a new theory emerged. Perhaps the doggo had swallowed the ring? Hoping for answers, Michaela contacted her cousin and asked to borrow his metal detector.

With the metal detector in hand, Michaela’s dad gently scanned Amber. "We think Amber swallowed Mom's diamond ring. Hang on," he said. He first started near Amber's neck, where her microchip had been installed. Sure enough, when the device passed over the pup's stomach, it started beeping rapidly. "There's the ring," he announced, and everyone burst into laughter. That moment confirmed their suspicion. Michaela also shared in the caption, "The freaking dog ate it."
