Bride sparks debate after forcing dog to follow a strict diet ahead of her wedding

Many brides-to-be follow a strict diet before their wedding to look their best. But have you ever heard of someone who put their entire family—and their dog—on a diet, too? Well, an individual who goes by u/333333x on Reddit shared a surprising story about a bride-to-be who put her parents and her dog on a strict diet ahead of the big day!

Describing it as the most "unhinged thing" they had ever heard a bride do, the individual shared, "She's getting married this year, and she has put her parents on a diet for the wedding. If you thought this was bad, just wait...She's also put the dog on a diet." Notably, the soon-to-be bride did not put her dog on a diet for health reasons but rather withheld treats due to the upcoming wedding. "It (the woman's pet) certainly doesn't look overweight to me," the author revealed. Moreover, they shared that although the parents were religiously following the diet, they weren't happy—in fact, they were angry. The reason? The bride kept scrutinizing everything they ate, calling them out when she saw them eating anything "fattening."

The Reddit post received an overwhelming response on social media, with netizens criticizing the future bride for being so harsh on her parents and dog. For instance, u/ramrodron commented, "I hope the dog takes a big poo during the exchange of rings." u/waffle_of_doom commented, "Bloody f****** hell. I would love to talk to the guy who's marrying this woman and ask if he was ever dropped on his head." Similarly, u/rjack151 shared, "I would be dropping treats all over the place on the day of the wedding. See who goes for it first, the parents or the dog." u/skipdot81, who had an encounter with such a bride, shared, "This is insane! A friend asked me to wear contacts rather than glasses for her wedding (I was the maid of honor), and I did it, but even dumb 21-year-old me would have said no to being put on a diet." u/valheru78 wrote, "With an attitude like this, you can look perfect, but you're still extremely ugly. Poor dog!"

On the other hand, u/proficiently-haunted recalled, "In my bridezilla encounter, she forced her husband to be exactly 180 lbs, or she wouldn’t marry him. She unsurprisingly also has an eating disorder." u/pleasecoffeeme shared, "Ok, I was alright with no desserts for Big Daddy and Mama, but it is just mean to deny the dog." u/really4got, who seemed a bit concerned about the dog, commented, "A future neighbor of Shirley Valentine...That’s what the dog reminds me of. Just no. I agree if the parents are doing this because they’ve helped create this monster." u/jolly_acanthisitta32 asked, "It's not their wedding! Who cares what they weigh? (Obviously, the bride, but you know what I mean.) I cannot get over the dog, though. Super cute that he's going to be in the wedding, but worrying about your dog's weight just for appearances is next level!" u/thrace75, who had a hilarious take on the story, wrote, "Bet the dog cheats on that diet. Unsupportive dog!"
