Bystanders stunned as man climbs 20-foot lamppost like Spiderman — when they looked up, they realized why

In a world where, unfortunately, countless animals die in captivity every single day, only a few unsung heroes go the extra mile to save them. At times, some kind, selfless, and compassionate people even risk their lives to protect these innocent animals suffering in silence, recognizing that they have inherent worth too. On a related note, Iain Dunlop met one such animal lover from Scotland, who went viral for climbing a lamppost to rescue a stranded seagull. The incredible incident happened just outside the Box Bar, where Dunlop worked as a part-time bouncer. 

When the man, a customer at Box Bar, saw the seagull struggling, he decided to save the bird anyhow, especially since no one else was sparing the poor animal so much as a glance. In the video, he was captured climbing an almost 20-foot-high lamppost like it were child's play, locking his legs around the lamppost and pulling himself towards the top. When he finally reached the stranded seagull, the man gently freed the poor bird and let it fly back into the vast sky. The story was once again highlighted when someone anonymous (u/bigbusta) shared the wholesome video on Reddit, with the post receiving an overwhelming response on the platform.

On the other hand, u/8amteetime commented, "That looks like an angry seagull. An old pal of mine was trolling a surface lure behind his boat when a gull flew down and took the lure. It was hooked and flew behind the boat until it was reeled in. My friend carefully removed the lure from its beak and was rewarded by the gull slicing open his lower lip — 12 stitches worth. "Every good deed, yes?" u/free-toe-pie wrote, "I bet that seagull stole his French fry right out of his hand earlier that day, and he still saved him." u/eutoputoegordo pointed out, "Every animal rescue of any sort is at least a two-person job. So many things can go wrong when being alone and dealing with wildlife alone.

Dunlop, who had just been moved by the kind stranger, revealed that he wanted to help him, but before he could get his climbing gear, the man had already rescued the bird. The guy must have climbed 20 feet in the air to rescue the seagull, yet he was up and down in no time at all. "It took him less than two minutes... ," Dunlop said. The seagull appeared to be grand, and the customer went back inside the bar, as reported by the Daily Mail.
