Camera captures the sweet moment a baby manatee hugs his mom in the river
Gentle, round, and cute, manatees possess a unique charm that can captivate everyone. With whiskered snouts and rounded bodies, these gentle creatures are too adorable to observe, and one of the best ways to do that is while water paddling in a crystal-clear kayak. Get Up And Go Kayaking is a company that offers guided eco-tours throughout the state of Florida for those who want to catch a glimpse of lovable sea cows. Recently, a heartwarming moment between a giant manatee mom and her baby was documented by it, and people cannot get enough of the cuteness.
The video was uploaded on Instagram from its official page and features the two animals interacting with each other. Everyone's hearts melted when they watched the mother manatee wrapping her arms around her baby as if giving him a tight hug. "Baby manatee and Mama giving hugs to each other on the river today," Get Up And Go Silver Springs (GUAGSS) wrote on Instagram. "This sweet moment was caught by our guide, Josh."
While some of these manatees inhabit Central Florida's Silver River all year round, they are seen more during November and March, which is also known as the Manatee season. This is mainly because the water around this time is cooler, which these gentle creatures seem to enjoy.
GUAGK guides are always delighted to find new babies in Florida's state parks, but looking at the mothers nurturing their babies is a feeling unmatched. "[We] came across Mama still keeping her baby close to her," the company wrote in a separate Instagram post. GUAGK is very careful when it comes to maintaining a safe distance as that is extremely important for the new baby. “If you see this duo along the Silver River, make sure to keep a safe distance, as it’s very important that new baby manatees can get air when they need it and [that] the mama has room to feed her and graze, as she’s working hard to keep her baby healthy," it wrote.

Many took to the Instagram video to express their thoughts on the adorable moment. "Please protect these magnificent manatees. In Silver Springs they look like they are doing beautifully," wrote @rosemariebria. "So sweet to see mom and calf manatee loving on one another," wrote @dottierobdau. "When I was in Bradenton Fla., one of my favorite things was to go and watch the manatees. They are such peaceful beings," added @jcdeslauriers60.
The company started back in the summer of 2016 with three primary locations, Winter Park, Rock Springs, and Bioluminescence in Titusville. Owner Justin Buzzi and his wife Tia set out to start the first clear kayak tour company in all of Florida (which actually ended up being the first in all of the USA), according to their official website. Since 2016, the tour company expanded to over 30 locations. "His business not only captures millions on social media but also actively contributes to the conservation of Florida’s natural landscapes. Beyond entrepreneurship, Justin enjoys photography, video games, and mentoring up-and-coming entrepreneurs," the website read.
