A pet cat took advantage of the freedom her owner gave her and pulled a hilarious stunt. Tula, a Siberian cat, was allowed to leave and enter her home on her own whim. The owner, Cole Clark from the UK, barely worried about Tula’s whereabouts until she discovered a paper collar with a note on her neck. Clark was not prepared for the moment of truth when she read the note and realized what her cat had been up to all this time. However, the owner was more amused than surprised by the spilling of Tula’s big secret.

Clark described her then 11-year-old Siberian cat as a witty feline with a mind of her own. She never doubted her survival instincts, hence allowed her to roam freely. Little did she know Tula was using her talent to beg for food at a diner. One day, the pet arrived home with a paper note attached to her collar. When she unfolded the paper collar, Clark discovered a small handwritten note asking about Tula’s family. “Does this cat have a home? Always at Toby Carvery,” read the note dated August 16, 2020. She revealed the hilarious discovery in an Instagram post shared on @tula_queencat

Tula was unaware that her secret double life had finally been caught. Toby Carvery, the restaurant often celebrated as the home of the Great British roast dinner, per the official site, had welcomed its furry visitor. She had even become a regular, enjoying leftover meat at the restaurant in Abbey Meads, Swindon. “When I found out Tula was frequenting the Carvery, I was hugely amused and not overly surprised. She will go wherever her quest for meat takes her,” Clark said in an interview with Bored Panda. Simultaneously, she was filled with gratitude and paid a visit to the restaurant with her cat to clarify the situation.

The then 41-year-old owner informed the restaurant staff that Tula was not a stray but belonged to a warm and safe home where she was provided with ample food to eat. “The staff were thrilled that she wasn’t a stray and told me that they had tried to pick her up by bribing her with prawns, but she ate the prawns, then ran off!” Clark said. She found out that her long-haired cat appeared at the restaurant during lunchtime, dinnertime, and sometimes even for supper. However, this was not her first time managing food from sources other than her house.

During the interview, Clark recalled that Tula has a history of grabbing an extra snack from strangers. Earlier, she would follow her nose to an old people’s home where they would treat her to meat paste sandwiches. “She is ultimately a total queen of a cat. She has a definite sense of cat entitlement and turns her nose up at anything less than meat!” the owner added. Tula’s regal appearance often tricks people into leaving her treats, which she sometimes has the heart to bring to her cat siblings, too.
