Cat steals her man and now, she feels like the 'third wheel' at home all the time

Cats are often seen as unfriendly, cold and independent creatures with many assuming they are less affectionate than dogs. But is that universally true? Well, just like humans, animals also have their own unique ways of expressing love and cats are no exception. A woman who goes by—@ali.ava1, on TikTok, shared how their cat, Banjo, clearly loves her partner more than her. In the now-popular video, the Maine Coon cat displayed a sense of possessiveness toward one of its pet parents.

As the man worked away on his laptop, Banjo, the cat casually plopped down next to him, completely unbothered by his productivity. It was as if the cat was gently reminding its mommy, "Just so you know, he is still number one in my life, human!" Banjo further stretched over the man's chest, literally forcing him to take a break from his work and spend some time with it. The fluff ball showered sweet kisses on her favorite human and gave a deadly stare at its other owner who was busy admiring the banter. 

The content creator posted the video with a playful caption, humorously acknowledging her place in the relationship. She wrote, "I am seriously the third wheel in our home." The TikTok video quickly went viral on the internet. While some people had a great laugh looking at Banjo's deadly stare, few appreciated and acknowledged their beautiful bond. For instance, @lynnerouse691 commented, "Kneading his stomach and giving you direct eye contact. You need that sound 'I can take your man if I want to.'" @lodjical wrote, "These girl cats mean business. So graceful! And then looking at you afterwards like he is mine why are you still here."

Meanwhile, @reddawg015 had a hilarious interpretation of Banjo's stare and wrote, "She looked at you like she was asking him, 'When are you going to take that woman to the shelter?'" On the other hand, @arina_kachanova, another cat owner commented, "My cat(she’s a girl) is the same as my husband. My breeder says if you want a loving cat for yourself, get a boy. I guess we are getting a second cat." @vrsdasb who had a similar experience with living with a cat wrote, "My husband feels envy about my cat and I’s relationship, that’s always glued to me. I’m not sure how I will continue life when my bubs time comes." @amberhershey wrote, "Is it just me or does the Human and the kitty kind of look similar? Like the whole “dogs who look like their owners” thing? Or am I trippin'?"

In another follow-up video, the woman shared an adorable moment, this time capturing Banjo during a cozy bonding session with its dad. As the man gently brushed through Banjo’s fur, the cat playfully responded by licking him on the face. Banjo was clearly enjoying and loving the attention. But this time, the cat's mommy dearest had a stroke of luck. As she sat on the nearby couch, Banjo spotted her and in a blink of an eye, jumped over to offer her a bit of affection too—proving that, despite the obvious favoritism towards its father, she had not been forgotten in the cat's heart.
