Couple skips honeymoon plans to save a kitten, and calls her their 'wedding gift' from the universe

They say one should judge a person's character by the way they treat animals, and rightfully so, because kindness speaks volumes about someone's true soul. A newlywed couple were hailed as heroes on social media after they rescued an abandoned kitten struggling on the roadside while en route to their honeymoon destination. When the couple, especially the husband, a genuine animal lover, found the cat, she was not in a good state — she was bleeding and looked very weak.

Fortunately, the newlyweds discovered the kitten, later named "Caterpillar," just in time and immediately rushed her to the hospital, keeping all their 'honeymoon plans' aside. After the medical check-up, the couple, who initially doubted if the kitten would survive, were both relieved and surprised when the veterinarian informed them about the cat's good health. They took Caterpillar, the rescued kitten, with them, making her an integral part of their honeymoon diaries. Notably, the doctor had prescribed some antibiotics for the injured kitten, and the newlywed couple religiously followed all the medications, making sure that the cat was steadily recovering.
"We aren't leaving her alone anywhere, so we take her everywhere we go," the woman said, sharing glimpses of the cat peeping through her purse, which had become her temporary travel carrier. "We are so happy to have her. She is our wedding gift from the universe," she further announced, reflecting on the precious bond they shared with their unexpected honeymoon guest. This story of a couple rescuing an injured kitten, though heartwarming, has raised serious concerns about the difficult life of countless stray cats across the globe. A shocking report by Phys.org, citing the Zoological Society of London, claims that most stray cats die before they turn one. Moreover, they reported that Australia has an estimated 700,000 unowned cats, living a miserable life across the country.
Meanwhile, the wholesome rescue video received thundering applause on the internet, with people praising the couple for saving the kitten. For instance, @vladilukan commented, "You didn't find her; she found you! God bless you; thanks for helping her!" @kinsiefaye revealed, "My husband and I found a kitten in the Costco parking lot getting gas on the way to vacation, where he proposed. 14 years later, he is the best cat EVER." Similarly, another user who goes by @meanmissc on the platform said, "Oh my God, on your honeymoon! You two are so awesome for stopping. The cat distribution system chose a crazy time for the caterpillar, lol!

On the other hand, someone who goes by @kaylatucker10 on TikTok commented, "The way you two just included her and took care of her while you were just supposed to be all carefree is amazing." Echoing the sentiments, @imtabrah said, "I am in tears. Thank you for having such a beautiful heart, both of you, and loving that little girl. I would name her Honeymoon!" Likewise, @timothyamber wrote, "God sent you there for one reason: for your honeymoon, to have a blessed honeymoon, and to save that kitten. So that's an angel from God for your family." @texas_momma74 pointed out, "She definitely wouldn’t have lasted much longer without you guys. She had to have been extremely dehydrated and had a respiratory infection. Thank you, you kind souls."
