Dog dad was furious after neighbors reported his ‘scary-looking’ pup — but the cops’ response left him stunned

A man was training his dog in a park when the police approached him to intervene. His neighbors had complained about his whereabouts, suggesting that his "scary dog" was apparently a threat to their safety. While the owner was puzzled by the complaint, he expected the police officers to know better. In a viral post shared by @creed_kennel_bullies, the clip offered glimpses into the dog owner’s dilemma while he was out enjoying a training day with his American Bully dog.

The initial seconds showcased the American Bully named Zion’s skills as he tried to bite a hanging tire. The owner was impressed by his pet’s agility but did not expect it to grab the police's attention. He mentioned that two other dogs were off-leash in the park and tried to attack his pet. Moments later, the clip showed a group of police officers talking to the man while Zion patiently waited sitting on the grass. The owner revealed that the neighbors had called the police to complain about his activities with Zion, who was apparently “too scary” for them. “They don’t like the trainings, and we are a threat to the community,” read an overlay text on the video with 2.5 million views.

When the police talked to him about the complaint, the dog owner was surprised that the officers sided with the neighbors. They claimed that big dogs were a threat, whereas smaller off-leash dogs could not pose as much harm in comparison. “Non-trained small dogs are less of a threat than a well-trained big dog,” the video stated, quoting the police. It was revealed that the incident occurred in Quebec, Canada. But the story didn't end there.

“Best part is the neighbor called the cops for his ‘protection’ because he couldn’t have a simple conversation or ask questions about what we are doing,” implied the dog owner with a tinge of sarcasm. A lady police officer talked to him about the issue while the man tried to explain his side of the story. Not convinced by how the situation was dealt, the owner quipped in the post’s caption, “I guess there are rules for different dogs.” The post was liked by 202,900, while thousands of others expressed support with a range of insights. “Smaller dogs are the ones that attack,” said @realpeso23, and @tishaanglin1223 highlighted, “But the small dog has teeth and can leave bite marks and can lead to vet bills. Make it make sense.”

“So, Chihuahuas aren’t considered a threat despite them being the most chaotic little demons?” asked @zarexjaeger. A fellow Pit Bull owner (@ballisticbutters) shared, “As a kid, I grew up with two Pit Bulls, and they were sweethearts and did everything they could to defend me and protect me. I miss them.” According to the United Kennel Club, the American Bully is marked as a loyal companion exhibiting great confidence and a zest for life. They are gentle and friendly, making them good family dogs. While they are highly misunderstood due to their appearance, aggressive behavior towards humans is uncharacteristic of them.
