Dog has adorable reaction after sensing dad's presence in the elevator

Having a pet means there will always be someone waiting for you at home, no matter what. When you leave the house, your loyal four-legged babies take their usual spot by the door, eagerly waiting for you. While work and other responsibilities might keep you busy, your pets spend their entire day thinking about your return. This profound truth about owning a pet, especially a dog, was beautifully captured by Marissa, who shared how their Golden Retriever reacts every time his father gets back from work. Interestingly, their adorable canine, Banks (@thegoldenbanks on TikTok), surprisingly senses his dad's presence even from a distance, and his reaction is priceless!

Banks, who had probably gone out for a walk, was in the elevator when he suddenly sensed his father's presence. The moment he realized that his father had returned from work, his excitement skyrocketed like he had spent the entire day anticipating his arrival. In the now-viral video, Banks waited by the elevator's door, eagerly waiting for the door to open so he could go straight to his father and tell him how much he missed him all day long. Simultaneously, the overlay text on the screen read, "When you get back from your walk and can smell Dad in the elevator, which means he is home from work."

And the second the elevator's door opened, Banks ran towards his flat, waiting for Marissa to open the door. As expected, when the adorable Golden Retriever saw his daddy-dearest lounging on the couch at home, he ran and literally jumped into his arms as if his life depended on it. "Someone was excited!" the dog's owner shared in the video caption. The TikTok video received a good response on social media with one million views online. Several dog owners also resonated with Banks' video and shared their personal stories in the comments.
For instance, @tt_gaz commented, "I remember our first dog, 15 minutes before Dad would come home from work, regardless of what time or day, he knew; he would go and sit by the door...Incredible!" @grace.e.brown shared, "It makes me fume when I see dogs get SO excited to see the person they wait all day for and the person doesn’t give them the time of day. Thank you for not being that person! Love to see it." @ryanfuks17 wrote, "My golden doodle does the same thing when we visit my parents, a.k.a. grandparents. I don’t have a chance to step out of the elevator. She’s already halfway down the hallway, sprinting to the door."

On the other hand, @marketingparasite revealed, "This happened once with my dog—she was so excited she ran into our neighbor's apartment by accident because they had the door open! We stopped taking her leash off at the elevator after that." @amandagarren1971 said, "Beautiful! True love! Thank you for sharing. This is an earth angel. Sweetheart of a pup dog." @mfj2213 commented, "My wife says that my dogs make their way to the front door and lay there for about an hour before I usually come home." @hannahsilverman8 revealed, "The minute my dog hits the steps and this is the case, I am getting dragged up the steps. They have such powerful sniffers."
