Dog kept delivering puppies to a stranger’s doorstep — they teared up when they realized why

There exists no greater love than what a mother feels for her child. The moment a female embraces motherhood, her child instantly becomes her priority, changing her life and identity forever. From nurturing her kids to guarding them from the evil world, a mother goes above and beyond imagination to ensure the children's safety. And, just like humans, animals, too, experience similar emotions or maternal instincts when it comes to protecting their offspring. This profound reality about instinctive parental love was witnessed when SGH Rescue (@shultzsguesthouse on TikTok), a canine rescue shelter in Massachusetts, shared a heartfelt story about a mother dog carrying her babies to a friendly doorstep in a desperate bid to save them.

It all began when a dog in Tennessee began dropping off newborn puppies at a kind person's doorstep. The dog, a mother to adorable white puppies, felt neglected at her owner's house and hence wanted a more secure place for her babies. So, she decided to drop her puppies at the neighbor's house, who had been feeding her, building the dog's trust in them. "She knew her puppies would be cared for, too! Day by day, more of her puppies appeared until all 7 were saved," the rescue shelter shared. The person whom the mama dog loved and trusted the most, most likely, contacted the rescue facility, which then took the first three puppies she left at their doorstep under their care.

Fortunately, as per Newsweek, Dawn and Brett, a couple who claimed to know the person feeding them, stepped in to foster the puppies. "When the mother continued showing up with more puppies, those pups were brought directly to Dawn and Brett's home, where their siblings were already being lovingly cared for," Merrill Fortier, an official from SGH Rescue, shared. "Born to a stray mama who carried each of her seven pups to safety, these resilient babes have gone from survival mode to thriving fluff mongers," the rescue shelter said, revealing that among the 7, only 4 puppies are waiting for a loving home.

Moreover, the outlet claims that although the mother offered her babies a second chance at life, she continued staying at her owner's place, enduring all the neglect in complete silence. Just like this dog, countless other innocent animals die every single day because of neglect and abuse by humans. As shocking as it may sound, a startling report cites that annually, nearly 10 million animals die because of cruelty in the United States alone. The study further claims that 60% of those animals are dogs. However, with a significant rise in pet ownership across the world, and more people ready to foster or adopt animals in need, we can hopefully expect to see an end to abuse shortly. 

Meanwhile, echoing the sentiments of the wholesome video, a user who goes by @twiggy420 on TikTok commented, "It’s so wild that dog moms are kinder than some human moms." Similarly, someone who goes by @rock.ice992 on TikTok wished, "They’re all so gorgeous. I love this breed. I hope they find great homes." On the other hand, @soupedupsusan, who urged other people to consider adopting puppies, wrote, "Boosting these adorable babies and mama. Please consider adopting or fostering."
