This hero dog just saved a house from burning to ash. A pitbull named Draco sensed a major wiring problem in the house and incessantly signaled the owner to check the power outlet before it was too late. According to Newsweek, a Reddit user who goes by @u/ThinkPension2161 shared a query about the strange behavior of his dog towards a power outlet. Little did he know that his pit bull was the smartest, with the highest frequency to detect any unique sound. The outlet mentioned that the Reddit user shared his dog’s weird behavior via a video, which showed Draco covering the socket with a red towel.

The confused and worried parent sought advice online about how to end his dog’s misery, who is obsessed with the socket. He shared that Draco kept covering it with whatever he could find and was seen worried only about this specific electrical outlet. In the video, the dog used his nose to push the blanket up towards the socket repeatedly, because the blanket just wouldn't “stay up.” Unknowingly, the curious dog was signaling his owner to get it checked by the electrician. The video, published on June 14, has received 17000 upvotes on the platform.

The news report mentioned that the owner realized what his dog was up to when he read the comments on his post. “Dogs are amazing at sensing things we can't. I'd be getting in an electrician to check and maybe calling Ghostbusters too,” wrote another Reddit user in the comment, as reported by Newsweek. Turned out the comments were right, and the owner got it checked. The problematic power outlet was connected to three different rooms of their house, and if something had gone wrong, the whole house would have burned. So, the owner clogged the troublesome socket and got it fixed.

Dogs are highly sensory beings. They can detect sounds up to 65kHz as compared to humans, who can only hear frequencies up to 20kHz. Dogs can easily differentiate between the types of sound and can even more easily locate their origin. The species can also shut out unwanted noises and filter the ones that matter. In the case of Draco, he was able to locate a huge problem beforehand and effectively aided in avoiding a deadly circumstance.

The owner shared another post thanking the audience, who suggested calling for an electrician and shared that Draco has returned to normalcy and now completely ignores the socket as any other. "It was hard to get anyone over to check the outlet out. However, my landlord did get an electrician out here to check it out," wrote the Reddit user in his caption. "Draco, my dog, has since completely ignored the outlet altogether. The issue hasn't come up again at all," he continued, going on to mention that the dog was rewarded for his intelligence with new toys and treats. Draco truly deserves this for saving his family, the house, and his neighborhood from what could have been a gruesome headline the next morning.
