An amusing dog clip recently went viral on the internet and the users can't help but giggle. The trending video was posted by Dakota, @introvertsguidetolife, on her TikTok account and featured her pet dog, Zuko, constantly trying to jump off the 7-foot fence. As reported by Newsweek, the dog's attempts to go beyond the garden fence were caught on camera, leaving not only the owner with the news that her plan to hold back the dog had failed but also the internet with a cute clip to watch. The footage received lots of love from the users, reaching more than 8.1 million views and 569.9K likes since posted on May 11, 2025.

The overlaid texts on the video read, "Just added another 12" to the 6ft fence to stop him from jumping it.. It didn't work." The owner also shared in the caption that this "escape artist" is now capable of jumping a 7ft fence as well. She further continues, "He only jumps when we leave the house (to try and come with us). We know this and keep him locked in a room when we leave so he can't get out. We specifically left the door open and walked out of the house to try and test the new fence height before we redid the entire fence at 7ft. He has never jumped the fence while we've been home with him."
Dakota shares in the comments of one post that this habit of Zuko is not a boredom issue, but rather keeps happening due to separation anxiety. "He does have things in the house, like puzzles, etc, to keep him occupied, but the moment we leave the house, he tries to figure out a way to join us outside." In the same post, she shares an update on the garden fence situation, sharing the video of the revised fence that now covers beyond 7ft and also has a metal net.

According to a study, dogs with separation anxiety, especially those showing escape behaviors like chewing to escape confinement, are more likely to develop other stress-related problems. Dogs frustrated by changes in their routines, like reduced exercise or increased time alone, show signs of distress like barking, inappropriate urination, chewing, self-injury, or attempts to escape.

Numerous users also commented on the viral, playful video and shared their cute responses. @makegreatimpressions shared, "I had this problem. My dog could get right over an 8’ fence easily. I made our own 'coyote rollers' out of lengths of PVC pipe (painted) and attached them with brackets the length of the fences. 5 years, not once over the fence again." @keigosburntnuggets wrote, "Every day I am grateful my boxer/aussie isn't aware she can jump the 4ft chicken wire containing her despite knowing she can clear the couch." @thesarajane_ commented, "The dog: wow, look, my mom upgraded my obstacle course to the next level!" @faupanda wrote, "Honestly, it’s impressive!"
