Trusting someone after enduring a painful and cruel experience feels scary and, of course, overwhelming. Although you try your level best to move ahead in life, the weight of the past often haunts you. This simple yet profound truth was highlighted when Rachel Oldenburger (@rachels.dogs) shared a heartfelt video showcasing the incredible transformation of a surrendered dog, Rosy, learning to trust humans again.

Oldenburger revealed that Roxy went through some "unpleasant experiences" in life before eventually being surrendered by her owner at the animal rescue center. Initially petrified by humans, it was only Oldenburger's persistent assurance and love that made Roxy realize that she could start trusting again. "After just a few days of silently walking her and just being 'there', Roxy requested attention from me for the first time. It was a huge moment," she revealed in the caption. "It takes so much time to build up their trust," read the onscreen text while Oldenburger shared glimpses of the adorable pooch trying to bond with her. Further, Oldenburger revealed that Christina, a volunteer at the animal center, worked closely with Roxy, helping her lower her guard.

"Roxy still is timid and takes time to warm up to new people, but she is MUCH more trusting and confident!" the woman shared reflecting on the dog's eagerness to find her forever home. Coming back to the emotional video, an evident transformation was seen in Roxy’s behavior. While at the beginning of the clip, she was hesitant and had her guard up, her demeanor gradually softened with each passing day. Additionally, Oldenburger urged everyone on the platform to help Roxy find a permanent loving family.

She wrote, "Please share Roxy so we can get her placed with her people and show her the good life that is out there waiting for her!" in the video caption. Reacting to the video, @richie commented, "Lmao! It works wonders! So glad you put it into practice!!! We’re always here to help!" Similarly, @finally_mrsh commented, "Thank you for what you are doing for these angels." @cheryltully commented, "Awww I love her progress! Thank you for all you do!

In another story of dog adoption, it took 13 long years for the senior dog Vito to get his forever home from the Best Friends Animal Sanctuary, Kanab. Shockingly, before coming to this sanctuary, Vito had already spent several years in the shelter system. Well, the team was clear from the beginning that whatever the case may be, they would care for the canine. Spending a decade in the animal sanctuary, due to his aggressive nature, a perfect owner did not turn up for Vito; however, life had something different for him, and this was when Casey Black, an experienced pet parent, visited the sanctuary.

He felt an instant bond with Vito on their first meeting itself. Finally, after umpteen visits and camping trips, Black finally adopted Vito, making the pooch a part of his family. In time, from a suspiciously wary relationship to a friendlier one, Vito and Black became buddies. In fact, for Black, Vito became his best and most loyal friend. He said, "I love this dog. He's had a huge impact on me. He's my best friend. He's my pal. He goes everywhere and sticks real close to me because I'm sure he feels the same way. He's just such a good dog."
