"Don't do it": Friend agreed to dog-sit, but she wasn't ready for what would happen next
For dog lovers, dog sitting offers a unique blend of emotions. It's a rewarding opportunity for animal lovers, and it's a chance to build connections and learn more about canine companions. In a viral video shared back in December by Rebecca Tandon (known on TikTok as @tandon_rebecca), the woman explained how the only reason why she doesn't want to dog sit in the future is because she simply can't imagine letting the dog go after.
"This is a note to anyone whose friend is like can you dog sit my dog? Don't do it. Don't do it, because now they're coming to pick him up tonight and I don't want to give him back! He's a giant baby, I love him so much," she said in the video. Then she holds the husky in her arms and jokes about running away with him so his owner won't be able to ask for him. The video has already hit 600,000 views and has more than 100k likes with more than 700 comments under the video.
"I love him, this is my baby now! He [doesn't] even care, he doesn't know how much this is affecting me. He's just living his life probably going to go to sleep, eat, and do his schedule. I'm dying because you're leaving," she continues. She even wondered how people foster dogs and then they give the dog away. She even talks about how wonderful of a feeling it is to be welcomed by a dog. "Today I was coming home forgetting that there's a dog here and he just comes to greet me with the best energy ever," she said. Later speaking with Newsweek, she shared that the dog belonged to her friends Erica & Juan. "I didn't grow up with dogs so this was new but now I want a dog, he was so chill and easygoing. I unfortunately had to give him back but they now know I'm always here to watch him," she told the publication.
People in the comment section jumped to talk about the cute video. "As a husky mom: that baby is on his best behavior, don’t fall for it, he’s a menace," one person @_peaches11 joked. People talked about how the husky was extremely well-behaved. "Gotta be a golden disguised as a husky or something, he’s way too quiet," wrote @jared_stthomas. "Wow, that is a very well-bred and well-socialized husky. He’s beautiful and so calm! You can tell the owner spent a lot of effort and love raising him. Maybe you can find the same breeder," added @jwen224. "People who foster puppies and kittens are the strongest 😏 I would have 48097654 cats and dogs if I fostered," added @nt_nt_09. "I'm a dog sitter and have sobbed after certain dogs left. I love them all so much," wrote @miss.mackenzie.kate. Others talked about their own experience of dog sitting. "Not me dog sitting for the first time this week 😳she’s following me everywhere, and insists on massages and kisses," added @cr8tive.eye.
