Emotional reason why woman decided to give her dog a chocolate for the first time in its life

While it’s difficult to resist your dog’s innocent, pleading eyes, especially when you are holding a piece of chocolate, sharing it with them is not a great idea. Although human food, especially chocolates, looks harmless, it can entirely ruin dogs' digestive systems. As much as you want to spoil them, some treats are better kept away from them. However, Kim (@kimloves4444 on TikTok) decided to treat her beloved dog, Sandy, with chocolate for the first time and it was for a deeply emotional reason. The bittersweet moment was captured as Sandy was on her deathbed, with Kim sitting beside the pup, overwhelmed with emotions.

"Because no dog should ever go to heaven without tasting chocolate first," read the onscreen text as Kim fed Sandy some sweet treats. The dog parent was visibly emotional, uncontrollably crying as Sandy looked at her with twinkling eyes. Reflecting on the moment, Kim wrote, "Thank you for being such a good girl Sandy. I love you!" in the caption. Interestingly, Kim also revealed, "I made her bacon eggs and pancakes and was making a video of what I was feeding her 3 days before her appointment but we had to be rushed in for an emergency euthanasia and never finished the video," in the comments. The heart-touching video quickly went viral on social media, amazing over 27 million viewers online. Notably, several netizens were brought to tears by the heartwarming moment, with a few pet owners even sharing their own stories about losing their beloved furry companions.

For instance, @shirley.brock8 wrote, "Oh! My boy had chocolate, steak, cheeseburger, eggs, a final walk around in his favorite field a ride to suck in all the fresh air. cuddles until the shadow covers his eyes. he was 13 and raised 3 girls." @lizzette_s wrote, "This is why we can't have a fur baby anymore, after we lost our girl I refuse to go through that pain again. We still grieve. It's been 4 years and I still cry. I'm sorry for your loss." Meanwhile, @ruggierodadamo wrote, "My dog didn't have the chance to try chocolate, she stopped eating way before she passed. That makes me sad." @corporal_wagon wrote, "When I was a kid I used to feed my Shih Tzu Hershey's kisses every day. Thinking it wasn't fair that he didn't get to taste it. Idk how but he lived until a few months ago at 17 years old."

On the other hand, @tayberry_books wrote, "The vet clinic I work at does this, we have a jar of 'last kisses' and a box of various fun-sized chocolate bars. We let the dogs try one of each (if they and their owners want them to) to see what their favorite is. With my own sweet girl, I found out she loved Twix the best so it's something I smile about whenever I see them." @ronnie.daily commented, "I’m shaking and almost crying. Every dog video reminds me of the day my dog passed away. He was hurt at the last moment. You know that his sound when died hunted me for days." @mudkippitykip wrote, "I read this quote somewhere it goes 'They may only be there for a part of your life, but to them you are their whole life' and that emotionally broke me."
