Funny CCTV footage shows a pack of dogs getting confused after their friend howled for the first time
Just like humans, animals, especially dogs, have their own ways of communicating. Through distinctive facial expressions and behavioral gestures, canines express their emotions and discuss within their communities. This profound truth was highlighted when Alyssa (@alyssastephanie on TikTok) shared a precious moment captured on a security camera where a usually quiet dog howled for the first time, leaving its canine friends stunned. The heartwarming video had gone viral on social media, with an amazing 2 million viewers online.
In the now-popular video, a pack of dogs was captured playing in the yard when something unexpected caught Alyssa and the canines off guard. Notably, among the dogs, there was a German shepherd who had never howled before, but this time, it closely watched others—before taking the plunge for its own long, heartfelt howl. Baffled by the new voice, the other dogs in the pack immediately turned around and rushed towards the German Shepherd. "When one dog howls for the first time and the entire pack is excited (and confused)," read the onscreen text.
The German shepherd's adorable furry friends quickly went from being extremely confused to highly appreciative of their buddy's new achievement. Interestingly, Alyssa revealed in the comments, "The white dog taught shepherd how to do it! White dog is the resident howler haha!" Additionally, sharing more about the heartfelt moment, Alyssa wrote, "Dog pack mentality is so fascinating. Hubble the resident howler was impressed & showed her the ropes," in the video caption.
Meanwhile, reacting to the TikTok video, @az.dreamer explained they wouldn't have been disturbed if they were the neighbor: "I have a house built in the 60s with brick walls...I honestly could barely hear anything outside lol. So I would love it. I guess you need double-paned glass too" @amburger11 wrote, "The way his tail is in between his leg before he awkwardly does a howl then it starts wagging when he realizes they’re intrigued is so fricking cute." @fadedgaijin commented, "One of my dogs learned to howl and now both my dogs howl. They are great Danes they howl at bugs." @thebabyasha111 wrote, "It's like a playground. and one kid does something cool. and they all surround him and ask how he did it."
Similarly, @anna wrote, "Everyone is talking about how they are so proud of him, but look at him he's so proud of himself. he just kept going omg!" @jjjhs_the3rd wrote, "I would pay so much to have my friend's dog in an environment like this. She is so socially deprived and needs supportive friends." @olgeorge commented, "I actually think it might be easier to take care of 9 dogs instead of because like they take care of each other." On the other hand, @katieprutsman wrote, "We call this a 'family howl' in our house. If they are outside sometimes they even get a 'neighborhood howl' going. Theeeee absolute best." @snowflake0813171 wrote, "I have 2 dogs and babysit my aunt 2 dogs when she's at work and this is them. One starts howling and then all 4 of them are like 'I forgot I can do that' Then we have 4 howling little dogs."
