The now-viral video captured Dally, the playful and quirky dog, running toward the pony and effortlessly leaping onto his back like a true cowboy. Watching Dally ride Spanky with such confidence and ease is a sight worth a million dollars. Describing the precious moment, the owner proudly wrote, "The dog's more cowboy than all of us!" in the caption. The TikTok video received an overwhelming response on social media, with over 21 million views online.

Meanwhile, reacting to the clip, @abby commented, "Jack Russells just teach themselves things. My family friend had one, and he taught himself to climb trees." @courtneylewis, another dog owner, shared, "Meanwhile, my Jack Russell is not a fan of the outside and prefers to spend her time in bed…and she despises animals." @keithmunjzp wrote, "I’ve had several Jack Russells. They are, without a doubt, some of the smartest and bravest dogs in the world." Similarly, @thebonecollector83 revealed, "My neighbor has a Jack Russell, waits for me at the property line to get on the mower with me to ride. She just sits there while I cut grass, happy as a clam. When I'm done, she just goes." @haileypeterson25 shared, "There are pictures of my great-grandpa Pomeranian sitting on one of his horses, and this is the first time I’ve seen another dog on a horse."

On the other hand, @meghan commented, "This is my dog's dream. I can’t introduce him to a horse, though I’m so afraid he will get stomped. But he is so insanely obsessed with them." @zinnia, who praised Dally and Spanky, wrote, "She is the coolest puppy and what a sweet pony!" @sarcastic_one79, who was surprised looking at Dally pulling up the unbelievable stunt, asked, "How on earth do you train your dog to do that? I can't even train mine to play. Lol!" @thebonecollector83 said, "I have a Jack Russell, and he'd 100% love this. Pretty sure he does lines when he wakes up in the morning. But I do have a chronic illness, and he's learned to alert me of a flare-up before I even know, and he's calm and lays in bed with me for a few days while they're happening. The best dog ever." @joeybeard5 commented, "That’s some of the best training that I have seen in a very long time. Nice work, super cool."

Although Dally and Spanky are now inseparable, their journey wasn’t always this smooth, Francesca Carsen, their owner, shared with The Dodo. When Dally was a four-month-old, overweight pup, she would often sit on a step stool and watch Carsen with Spanky. “After about two months, she hopped up onto Spanky’s back from the step stool…and that day they became inseparable. We noticed the next day she was more excited than she had ever been. She loves riding her pony and feels pretty important. She no longer needs the step stool; she jumps on Spanky’s back from the ground.”
