Lifestyle influencer’s friend joked her ‘misbehaving’ cat ‘needed God’ — so she showed up at church in matching designer outfits to do the unthinkable
While unusual pet trends have been popping up on social media lately, TikTok or "RichTok" influencer Becca Bloom took things a step further with her cat. Bloom shared that after her cat's recent "misbehavior," her friend suggested that "he needed God." Following her friend's advice, Bloom posted a video on November 4, 2024, documenting herself and her cat Oscar getting ready for church.
Becca Bloom, known as @beccaxbloom on TikTok, is a well-known influencer who often shows her lavish lifestyle on the "RichTok" side of the platform. She recently posted a video of herself and her orange fluffy cat, Oscar, revealing that she dressed both herself and Oscar for the occasion. "We're headed off to get my cat baptized today. Oscar's been acting out lately, and my friend says he needs God."
Bloom then goes on to share their outfit details, noting that both of them are wearing matching outfits. Bloom wears a Jonathan Simkhai dress, while her cat is dolled up in a similar-looking version of her lacy dress. The video also featured Bloom asking her followers to help her choose her purse, where she plans to stash Oscar’s treats, per PEOPLE's report on November 6, 2025.
While Bloom looked excited, showing off her cat's outfit and bling, Oscar appeared disinterested the whole time. The video, which has racked up more than 4.6 million views on TikTok, has left viewers in stitches. Bloom's video reminds us of another story of a man who found weird baptizing pictures of a stranger's dog in a camera. He spotted the submerged camera in a river and contacted the rightful owner, not before scanning some "disturbing photos" in it. The dog owner eventually revealed that the photographer behind the strange pictures was a friend known for his unusual artistic style.
He had been pet-sitting the dog when he created a "thriller-style" Christmas card series, which included their friend dramatically baptizing the dog in a lake as part of the bizarre photoshoot.

While we are unsure if Bloom's video was satirical or serious, a 2019 report from The Catholic Sun explained that Catholic parishes celebrate the Feast of St. Francis of Assisi by offering blessings for pets. This is a way for Catholic pet-parents to show gratitude for the animals and acknowledge their spiritual importance. Soon after Bloom's video went viral, users took to the comment section to leave hilarious remarks.
Gesturing at Oscar's grumpy look, @xtra.brown joked, "I'm not too sure Oscar has fully accepted the gospel." @nicole recounted, "My son baptized our cat when he was about five or six." Referring to Oscar's resemblance to Garfield, @melly.452 commented, Garfield is getting baptized." @Rockyrocks penned, "Not the cat needing god. Girl, this is better than your friend's goldfish funeral. You have some good friends."
