Loyal dog stops eating after 'dad' leaves home and the internet's begging him to come back

In life, many people are forced to stay away from people they love for several reasons—jobs, family responsibilities, and financial stability, among others. As humans, it is easier for us to understand the situation as we can communicate clearly. But the pets whose entire world simply revolves around their owners often fail to cope with the separation anxiety. This profound truth was highlighted when Rebecca Youssef shared an incredible video of her dog, Wrenley Dawn (@wrenleythegoldengirl on TikTok), capturing how her behavior drastically changed after her husband left for Egypt.

The woman revealed that her husband had left for Egypt to be with his family for over a month. However, their loyal dog, Wrenley, who loves him unconditionally, couldn't take the separation for long. Soon after the man left, she stopped eating, the woman revealed as she shared a glimpse of the dog sleeping on her father's T-shirt. "Today is sad. It's the first day where she refuses to touch her breakfast. It's 2 o'clock, and she still hasn't eaten," the overlay text on the screen read. Further, the woman shared that she would consider calling the doctor if the situation persists. "They will give me medication that will encourage her to eat," she added. Moreover, the dog's mother attached a heartwarming picture of Wrenley with her daddy-dearest, showcasing the bond they share.
Interestingly, the woman took to the TikTok video's caption to clarify that her husband wasn't dead but had gone to visit his family. "Clarification! My husband did not die! He left for Egypt to be with his family for 43 days. The video before this one, I talk about that! Sorry for the confusion!" she wrote. The confusion began when she had shared yet another video before her husband left for Egypt. And, looking at Wrenley's heartbreaking reaction, people might have confronted the woman about her husband's demise. Meanwhile, the follow-up video received a great response on the platform, leaving netizens in awe.

For instance, @beba commented, "Try calling him on video call; that way she could see that he’s OK and then he’s coming home. He’s coming back sometimes. They just need reassurance." Similarly, @elizabethfarleyje suggested, "If she likes car rides, take her for a ride and a Pup Cup. Sometimes breaking up the day or routine breaks up the sadness." @h3r3forthesh3nanigans wrote, "Dad is not allowed to leave without her anymore. If she can't go, then no one can go. Ah, so precious!" @smooshems said, "And people think dogs don’t think or feel. Grief is so real. Poor puppy." @keedub7 wrote, "Wow, very sad. Does she FaceTime her dad? She would feel better soon!"

On the other hand, talking to Newsweek, Rebecca shared that she had never seen her dog so sad before her husband left home. "Many people underestimate the emotional intelligence of dogs. I felt these videos showed a real and honest picture of how deeply our pets can love us. And I knew I'd eventually post a video of their reunion, so I wanted to take people along for the journey," she added. To make her pup feel better, Rebecca shared that she even arranged for special play dates with Wrenley's canine friend and gave her special treats.
