It's hard to resist the adorable and charming nature of pets, even if you are not an animal lover. Their playful and quirky antics have a magical way of making everyone fall head-over-heels for them. Similarly, Ashley Gutermuth's (@ashgutermuth on TikTok) husband, who initially didn’t want a cat, quickly transformed into a devoted pet parent. Gutermuth, a New York-based stand-up comedian shared a now-viral video, revealing how her husband reacted to their 9-year-old cat, Bruce, sleeping on his office chair

Gutermuth's husband was watching some cat videos on his laptop when his wife barged into the room asking, "Why are you in the fold-out chair." To this, the man confidently responded, "Because the cat was in my chair." Further, when Gutermuth asked why he did not move Bruce from the chair, her husband said that the cat was sleeping, hinting that he did not want to disturb him. "Oh! He is awake now, you want some treats," the man said, gently caressing Bruce. Stunned looking at how the bond between her husband and their cat has significantly evolved, Gutermuth asked, "You remember when you said you never wanted a cat?" Upon hearing this, the man immediately looked at Bruce asking him not to believe his mother. "I am the spare human," Gutermuth wrote in the caption, sharing more about her husband and Bruce's relationship.

Reacting to the video, @ruhbehkuh commented, "My dad once set up a footstool to change a light bulb. My mom walked into the room and saw the cat on the stool as my dad was walking in from the garage, bringing in another stool." @infinetlyomega wrote, "I was also never a cat guy, took mine in after I found out it was abandoned by her previous owner and I haven't looked back. I am 1000% a cat guy now." Similarly, @michaelkeim0 commented, "My dad did the same thing when the cat was asleep in his chair. I asked him why he did not move Hopalong, he said he was there first." @raseanzzapfrazier commented, "I honestly think cat ownership by people who didn't initially like cars really demonstrates the pure transformative power of love. People don't end up just loving THEIR cat, they'll love ALL cats!"

@kathygunderson commented, "My fiancé is like this too. My eldest cat adores him. He always said he hates cats. This morning he sat there cradling him like a baby and they nuzzled faces. Sure he hates them." @mikeyshow42 commented, "He never wanted a cat because he has zero defense against their cuteness. He knew instinctively that this would happen." @hellkiteroxx commented, "It's eternal bad luck to disturb a sleeping cat in your spot! Don't do it! Sneezed and woke my cat up, broke my toe on the door going to work!" @lori.mcconnell wrote, "'Bruce don't listen to that, your mother lies.' I never have anywhere to sit - I have four cats and a dog and would never think of making them move either." On a related note, Gutermuth was in conversation with Newsweek when she shared, "My husband and I both love animals and have had Bruce since he was a baby. We moved a lot with the military and Bruce became a great traveler, haha!"
