Missing 83-year-old woman found at the bottom of a 70-foot drop — all thanks to her heroic cat

Searching for a missing person can always be challenging. However, if the person involved is a child or a senior citizen, the complexity and the urgency of the situation increases. An 83-year-old missing lady's case turned out to be truly exceptional—thanks to her heroic cat, Piran, who guided the rescue team straight to her. The incredible story was shared on Bodmin Police's official Facebook page.

The Bodmin police officials were informed about the elderly woman when she went missing after falling from approximately 70 feet down a steep embankment. A search operation was launched after someone named Tamar spotted the lady's cat meowing in a maize field near her residence. "Cornwall Fire and Rescue Service was in attendance, along with their specialist water rescue team, Cornwall Air Ambulance, and SWAST and the female was hoisted back up to the field on a stretcher via line rescue," the officials shared in the Facebook post. The elderly lady was airlifted in an air ambulance to a hospital, and after treatment, she had been doing ok. "While the lady concerned is still currently receiving care, she is in good spirits and is being well looked after," the officials shared. Moreover, they also shared some pictures of their successful rescue mission.
Meanwhile, reacting to the wholesome post, Hayley Thompson commented, "Just goes to show how amazing animals are! Well done to all involved, and I wish the lady a good and fast recovery!" Similarly, Caroline Woodward shared, "She was very lucky; Piran deserves a treat and well done Tamar for finding her. We've just raised a lot of money for the Air Ambulance, and they deserve every penny of it." Sarah Fox said, "Wishing the lucky lady a full and speedy recovery! Fantastic teamwork from all those involved, and well done, Piran the cat." Lorine Liz Short pointed out, "Poor lady, what an ordeal. I hope she recovers ok. Wonderful job, emergency services, and well done, Piran the cat...Saint by name and saint by nature, bless!"

Kim Godding revealed, "Well done to all who helped in the rescue. They say a dog is a man's best friend; in this case, the cat is the lady's best friend. Glad it's a happy ending." Donna Mitchell commented, "Amazing, Piran! I hope you are being cared for like royalty whilst your mum is in hospital." Mary Fuller also praised the cat and wrote, "Well done to Piran the cat and the neighbor, who spotted her and heard her meowing. I hope the lady will be ok and make a good recovery and will soon be back home with her beloved cat." Clive Pope commented, "Absolutely brilliant rescue by everyone involved in what looks like difficult conditions. And let's not forget some well-deserved praise for that one committed cat."
On the other hand, Judy Anderson shared, "Wow! This story touched me so much. I'm reading this from the Dallas, Texas area. I volunteer as a cage cleaner for a local cat rescue and adoption group. Well done, everyone, and so many thanks to her cat. I have a black cat and feel blessed to have her." Pam Lord said, "Love is universal. Species don't matter. That we can love those who are not human is a gift. That they love us in return is a blessing."
