It's incredibly amazing to see how dogs react to their names just like humans. Right? It shows their profound connection with their identity that their beloved owners reward them with. On a related note, Julia (@jujuuwest on TikTok) was shocked when she surprisingly guessed the "real name" of her rescued dog, Sven, prompting an unexpected reaction from the canine.

In the now-viral TikTok video, Sven, who was captured peacefully lounging on the couch, immediately looks at Julia when she calls out, "Gary." It was as if the adorable dog was previously named Gary by its earlier owners as the puppy instantly reacted to the name. Simultaneously, the overlay text on the screen read, "You are a rescue dog named Sven, but your mom accidentally stumbled upon your real name." Furthermore, the rescued dog was even seen responding to "Gary," even when called from a distance. Julia assumed that Sven's old owners might have called him Gary and that's why the dog still reacts to the name. She wrote, "Must have been Gary with his old family," in the video caption. Notably, while responding to comments, Julia also revealed that Sven was abandoned by his last owners to be a stray on the streets of Texas.

Meanwhile, reacting to the clip, @victorialeemccart commented, "I love this and I love dogs SO much! They are beyond smart and they give us unconditional love!" @guada_pitri wrote, "I actually found out the name my rescued cat had before (I found a post about her escaping as a baby), and when I called her that she looked at me like,' HOW DO YOU KNOW THAT?'" @caineffect wrote, "My cat's old name used to be Remi and I test it out every once in a while to see if he still remembers; he looks incredibly annoyed when I call him that, like that's not my name anymore, stop that!" @rickytickybobbywo8 wrote, "My aunt adopted a dog and he wouldn’t listen to commands even tho the shelter said he was trained. One day she spoke French to him as a joke. he was French and only understood French commands."

On the other hand, @rickyluther wrote, "Gary was his previous owner's name or family member of said owner and he misses him. My dog does this with certain family members of mine when I say their names." Similarly, @dabbiebaker commented, "Might be the name of one of his humans. Does he come to it or just look around when u say it he might be looking for the human when You say it." @hepfette commented, "I have been trying to find out my foster dog's original name. I can tell he came from a good home and would recognize it."

@darkmoonmortis wrote, "I called my cat Jeff for a week once because it was the only thing he would answer to...I guess he decided it didn't suit him because he started answering only to his previous name again...he was a kitten when I found him so I know it wasn't a name from a source." @stop_jessi_time wrote, "My dog was Jackie in the shelter, so when we say 'Jackie' with a big Southern drawl, she's like, 'Yes!?' and then goes, 'Wait, that's not my name.'
