Pet psychic claims a senior cat ‘delayed’ his death by a week — for a heartbreaking reason tied to his family’s big milestone

A viral TikTok video shared by Nikki Vasconez, also known as @nikkivasconez, on July 18, 2022, highlighted this bond through a deeply moving story about a senior cat named Smokey. According to Nikki, Smokey actually delayed his passing by a week for a heartbreaking and meaningful reason linked to a significant milestone in his family's life.

In the video, Nikki, a pet psychic and animal communicator, shared a touching story that shed light on how animals might choose when they are ready to pass. "Animals choose the day they pass. The exact time, the exact way," Nikki says in the video. The onscreen text then reads, "Here’s an example." Nikki then continued with the story of Smokey, who was nearing the end of his life. Smokey’s humans had asked Nikki to communicate with him to see if he was ready to let go. Smokey’s response was unexpected, "He said, 'I am ready to leave my physical body now. But I was not ready last week.'" Smokey explained that there was something important he wanted to be a part of before passing, which turned out to be his owners' 15th wedding anniversary, an event he had witnessed every year since their wedding day.

This heartfelt story resonated with many viewers who were moved by the idea that pets, like people, may have a sense of timing when it comes to life’s transitions.
