Plumber randomly gets ‘help' from Golden Retriever for 'important installations'—the video made our day

Golden Retrievers are easily one of the friendliest dog breeds. With their playful nature and boundless energy, these adorable furballs are always ready for some quirky adventures. Similarly, a recent video capturing Fie Mortensen's incredible golden retriever, Albert (@hubertthegoldenretriever on TikTok), trying to help a plumber on "important installations," has gone viral on social media. Well, the job required no assistance from the dog, but Albert wanted to help anyway.

In the now-popular clip, the plumber was captured attentively working under the sink while Albert, determined to help, squeezed himself into the cabinet. Interestingly, the plumber seemed to be enjoying Albert's antics as he skilfully juggled between his tasks while affectionately petting the dog with one hand. "When you try to help the plumber with important installations, but it needs zero golden retrievers but you help anyways," the overlay text read while the cute banter unfolded on the screen. Talking more about the precious moment, Mortensen wrote, "Always there to help," in the video caption, reflecting Albert's ever-helpful spirit.

Meanwhile, reacting to the TikTok video, @zoggle commented, "I love dogs, but trade companies usually ask that dogs be kept out of the way in a separate room. 1) so they can work. 2) In case they have allergies, and most importantly, 3) to protect your dog." Similarly, @jules wrote, "Retrievers are detectives. They need to investigate, check, and approve everything, especially if someone is doing something on the ground level." @eyfsideasandwonders wrote, "The dog thought he was there for him, probably a bit confused about why they are so close to the sink." @appleuser8829775, another pet parent, commented, "When we renovated our bath, our dog actually helped the men by taking the packages of the tiles away." @bored2work, who had a similar experience, commented, "My Mal tried to help the electrician, he phoned me from upstairs as he was too scared of her to shout out for help incase it upset her."

@sanziana wrote, "The dog is bringing his tools. The plumber couldn't have done it without the dog's help." @badbrad wrote, "I have been helped the exact same way! The job took twice as long but was very satisfying!" On the other hand, @karendyeshancock wrote, "He just showing the plumber how to wiggle into tight spaces." @luka said, "Yes, yes, the dogs have to be there everywhere, especially if it is something unusual, like a few small children." @phoenix_vikki112 wrote, "My dog barks at strangers in his home but if they get on the floor with him he's exactly like this.... He's a LabXCocker and it was so funny watching him try help fit a bath panel last time." @meggles73 wrote, "Ah yes...Mine has supervised the bathroom contractor, basement waterproofing crew, pest control & a handyman. A nap is always required."

Talking to Newsweek, Mortensen shared that the plumber already knew Albert and his dog sibling. She revealed that both the dogs love him, which was why the plumber was not surprised when Albert joined him under the sink. "Albert, the dog that is on the video, loves everyone and is very curious always. He always wants to be part of what you're doing," the pet parent shared with the outlet.
