Most people with traumatic past experiences often struggle to cope with the intense emotional baggage. While some adapt and move forward in life with relative ease, others find themselves struggling with post-traumatic stress disorder (PTSD) — a mental health condition, which, according to the American Psychiatric Association, occurs in people with a prior history of trauma, social injustice, or violence. On a related note, a kind couple (@orangetherescue on TikTok), who adopted a rescue dog thrown out of a moving car, revealed how the innocent pup has been dealing with past trauma. On behalf of Orange, their dog, Amanda Ciarka and her partner, Hayden, shared a bittersweet message for her previous owner that left the internet sobbing.

"I still cower when anybody picks up stick-like objects," they revealed, explaining how Orange, possibly, gets reminded of the past torture. Further, the couple shared that their adorable dog gets scared whenever someone raises their voice, even if it's her father celebrating a football match victory. "I cower and expect to be punished whenever I do 'naughty' things," the owners revealed. Notably, when Orange was discovered by Dogs Club Rescue in North Macedonia, she was found with multiple "untreated abscesses," because of which she had to undergo fatal surgery. "I nearly need half of my teeth removed because of the damage caused by the hunting you forced [me] to do," the couple disclosed, unveiling how the dog's previous owner mistreated her.

As a result of the painful experience, probably because of a neglectful man, Orange developed a strange aversion towards men, except for her father. "I got zoomies every time I got fed because I wasn't used to the feeling of having a tummy full," the couple shared, reflecting upon the dog's struggle to adapt to her new life. "The best thing you ever did to me was to abandon me. I finally know what love feels like. I finally get to just be a dog," the overlay text read, revealing a much more confident and thriving self of Orange, who seemed happy in her new home.

Meanwhile, the TikTok post, underlining the rescue dog's silent battle with past trauma, received an overwhelming response on social media. Echoing the sentiments, @pinotgrigio6 commented, "She’s the most beautiful little girl, and you have done the most amazing thing by giving her a happy and loving home." @molly.xx93 said, "She’s finally had the chance to know what safety is, what love is, what comfort is, what kindness is, and what family is—that’s all thanks to you. She might have a devastating past, but she has the brightest future. Thank you for saving her."

Similarly, @user605847881605 pointed out, "You are an angel for rescuing that angel, and in return, she will pay you with ever pure, forever unconditional love for the rest of her life. She will show you and teach you what true love and gratitude really feel like, look like, and truly are." @engelfunk revealed, "I got my Elli at the age of about 3 or 4, 5 years ago. This night she cried so loud, like she often does in her sleep. I wish I could erase whatever they did to her. I wish I could give her just good dreams." You can see the post here!
