For people who genuinely love animals, their pets aren't just animals to them; they are their family. From celebrating birthdays and travelling abroad to weddings, pet parents feel life's biggest milestones are incomplete without their animal companions. Anna Vaus, a singer who goes by @annavaus on Instagram, too, is equally obsessed with her cat, Harry. She loves Harry to eternity and hence didn't think twice before giving him a front-row seat in the credits of her debut album 'Downhill From Here'.

In a heartfelt video that has crossed over a million views online, Anna undoubtedly looked caught off guard by the phone call, but couldn't help smiling when confronted about crediting her cat as a producer on her new album. "Hey, just had a quick question... Did you list your cat as your producer on your new song?" the caller asked. The minute Anna heard the question, she literally froze and began panicking as she didn't know how to respond. She was guilty as charged for loving her cat like a toddler loves cotton candy, but why would she credit him in her debut song? That was a mystery even to her.

"Ahh, that's super odd. I don't know why I would come up with that," Anna spoke, clearly unsure about how to respond to the woman. To this, the person on the other side said, "Huh, just trying to figure out why he's there." Now, though Anna's profound gesture makes us think about the beautiful bond she shares with Harry, she isn't the first one to do something like that. Yuri Knorozov, a Soviet-Russian linguist, had listed his beloved Siamese cat as his co-author for the decipherment of the Maya script.

An anonymous individual who goes by u/scaulbylausis on Reddit shared this astonishing story from the 1950s, explaining how Knorozov's move often disappointed his editors. The person wrote, "He listed his cat Asya as a co-author on his work, but the editors always removed her. He always used this photo with Asya as his author photo and got pissed whenever editors cropped her out." Anna and Knorozov proved how much they loved their cats by including them in one of their biggest achievements in life. Just like them, according to research by the National Library of Medicine, more than 50% of cat owners see their felines as their family. Besides, more than a quarter of them treat their cats as their child.

Meanwhile, Anna's video received a wholesome response on social media, with people applauding her unconventional move. Echoing the sentiments, @eugenezalyubovsky commented, "Reminds me of that scientist who wrote an article without co-authors but used 'we' everywhere and just wrote in his cat as a co-author to avoid having to edit the text." Similarly, another user, who goes by @mt_j427 on Instagram, said, "If a cat can be a co-writer for a scientific essay, your cat can be a producer."

@sandscharlie, who loved Anna's way of honoring her cat, suggested, "Just tell them that it was the cat's passion project, and they hired you to be the voice and share their message with the world." On the other hand, @reymata17 wrote, "He was 1000% critical in the production of the new song." @emmamacer shared, "This is still one of my favorite hidden gems! You are priceless. Harry deserves credit for his dedication to the project."
