Stranger asks why she has Rottweiler as pet — then woman told her to Google her story, and it explained everything

An impromptu chat in the park led to a heartfelt conversation between two dog owners and a nerve-wracking story shared. A woman, who runs the page @mybestfriendstory on TikTok, known for saying hello to strangers’ pets out for a walk, met another dog owner who enlightened her with a difficult experience that led her to adopt a Rottweiler, known for their strength and protective nature. The TikTok creator was curious why the pet owner had chosen the breed and simply asked her. What followed was an unexpected story that traced back to the owner’s traumatic past, while her dog was her only source of relief.

As the TikTok creator walked her pup in the park, she greeted a fellow pet owner passing by. Noticing her Rottweiler, she asked if the dog, called Brocky, was friendly and learned he was only 16 months old. The creator dropped the question, “How come you decided to get a Rottweiler?” The woman promptly responded, saying, “I was attacked. It was all in the news.” Turns out, the woman was attacked by two men in Ilford, UK, and needed plastic surgery to recover fully. The creator gasped when the woman detailed her ordeal.

The pet owner recalled, “So, there were two men who tried to drag a 17-year-old girl into a car park. And I grabbed her back, pushed the guy on his chest, said, ‘We’re not doing this.’ Next thing I knew, I was out cold, waking up on the floor.” She had sustained severe injuries after the altercation but did not hesitate to share that she would absolutely do it again to help someone in need. The experience took a mental toll on the woman as she could not sleep for months in fear. By the end of the year of the incident, she decided to adopt Brocky and has been able to live in peace ever since. The Rottweiler served to protect the owner, and she was proud to share it.

“He’s my baby. So many people are scared of him, though… You can see the fright in their face,” the dog owner said. However, she understands the power and strength Rottweilers are equipped with that may instill fear in some people. The moving backstory was viewed 12.6 million times and liked by 2.1 million people. “I stopped a kidnapping, so now I have Brocky to protect me,” the caption read. People were touched by Brocky’s story and chimed in with insights. “This woman is a force. Straight told a kidnapper, ‘We’re not doing this,’ and did her best to help that other woman. She’s amazing,” a person applauded (@all.this.living.dead), and @moodymoonie710 said, “She’s a Queen and now she has her King to protect her.”

According to Goodin Abernathy, Rottweilers made up 9.8% of fatal dog attacks between 2005 and 2019. They became the second most deadly dog breed, trailing pit bulls. However, the story shared by the TikTok creator is a perfect example of the power and protection the breed may offer its owners.
