There is no scientific evidence to confirm "reincarnation," yet for many, it remains a sacred truth. Reincarnation, essentially, is the belief that after death, a person's soul or true consciousness is reborn in a new physical form, thereby continuing the cycle of life, death, and rebirth. Interestingly, this whole concept isn't universal, as the National Library of Medicine notes that different religions have varying perceptions about it. On a related note, Sam DeRosa, who goes by @samderosa on Instagram, believes that the due arrival of her baby is a sign from Gibson, her dog who passed away unexpectedly, just as the vet had suggested.

In September 2024, DeRosa unfortunately lost Gibson, her beloved dog, to health complications. It all happened in the span of a month: Gibson's health deteriorated, as he went from being completely healthy to a sick puppy, and eventually lost the battle, leaving Sam devastated. Amidst the painful heartbreak, one incident, in particular, perhaps, made her believe that Gibson would come back to her. "The vet said, 'I am so sorry. There's nothing we can do. But hey, maybe your fur baby will send you a new baby someday. It will be a sign,'" she revealed. Coincidentally, Sam, who had been planning for a child around the same time, found out about her pregnancy shortly after Gibson's death.

"The due date for my baby? The exact day I lost Gibson. The day I lost my dog is the same day a new one is supposed to be here," the mom-to-be revealed. Moreover, Sam shared that she doesn't believe this is all a mere coincidence; rather, she feels it's Gibson's gift to her. After almost a year of trying and failing to conceive, it only happened after her fur baby passed. "My Gibby will always and forever be my first lil baby. Nothing can or will replace him, but man, oh man, is he sending me a sign?" Sam asked in the caption. When Sam shared her incredible story on social media, she received an outpouring of love, with some believing that Gibson will return to her, and this time as her human child.

Echoing the sentiments, a user, @sonnimai, said, "Literally sobbing! Your baby is Gibson! In human form!" @jenmiller revealed, "Alright, I’m ugly sobbing! My dad is a vet… He’s not the most religious at all, but he says he feels that dogs know before the people when they’re going, and they wait for the people to be ready. Even if we don’t feel ready, they try and wait until they know we are. So beautiful to know that their little souls crossed paths."

Another user who goes by @taylareesmusic on Instagram said, "Aww, Sam, that is so beautiful. Your first baby is absolutely giving you a sign! I’m so excited for you guys. Congratulations!" @catharineconway shared, "Girl, I’m crying in the club. My dog, Beau, was born the exact same day my grandma passed away. I didn’t see his birthdate until after we adopted him, and I cried the whole way home." On the other hand, @mistertoddscorner revealed, "This is true. My dog, Sampson I had from a month old to 16 years old, was healthy, but his legs stopped working. It was the hardest thing for me to put him down. He was like my child. The day after, I found out my wife was pregnant. Transfer of life."
