As dog parents, it is extremely important to keep your dogs engaged in some kind of physical activity throughout the day. It won't just keep them physically fit but will also channel their energy, ensuring their mental well-being. If trained from a young age properly, dogs can be excellent companions, helping their owners with daily household chores. Likewise, Daze (@dazelivingstone on TikTok) shared a video of her adorable border collie, Fable, helping her with house responsibilities—from discarding waste to putting clothes in the washing machine, this dog truly knows it all!

"You may or may not know, but the border collie needs a job. They need to work. But I don't have any sheep, so these are some of the household chores that I make my border collie do," the woman spoke, as she shared how Fable helps her manage the house duties. First, she asked her dog to put the waste into the dustbin, and the clever pup did that just as efficiently. Next, Daze asked her pet to put her shoes in the laundry room, and Fable completed this task too with perfection. But wait! That's not the end. The border collie was even trained to put clothes in the washing machine, making sure that his mother got an efficient helping hand.

Reacting to the TikTok post, @fikawithkitty commented, "I have always said I don't want a collie as they need a job, but maybe I need a collie to do all the chores." @legithaliehiggins shared, "My Aussie cooks dinner with me (she’s my sous chef in training). I have such a soft spot for herding breeds. They love having jobs." On the other hand, @user8999pmnoke confessed, "I can't look at border collies. They are the most gorgeous creatures ever! I want one so much, but I know it would be too much of a dog for my lifestyle. My current couch potato agrees too." Meanwhile, @pollybibby said, "My Barney Bear is the exact same! He loves a job in the house. He gets the washing out of the washing machine and puts it in the basket for me & carries the shopping in from the car! Best breed ever!

Similarly, @hypermobileguy revealed, "My collie was a therapy dog and trained in helping mental health. She could perform tasks such as deep pressure therapy. She saved my life. Once she retired as my dog, I kept her, but she would go to work with my mom, who worked at dementia care homes and sat with the residents all day. She loved it." @lakoooathome wrote, "This is brilliant! He's such a good boy (also, I'm envious of your laundry room, looks fab)." @floral_butch_cub commented, "Oh, this explains my friend's family border collie. She didn't have a job, but what she had was a serious fetching addiction. Like every waking hour, that dog wanted to fetch."

On a lighter note, @skyes418 asked, "Can you please come train my Labradoodle? Never met such a lazy, stubborn dog in my life; he refuses to do anything unless he thinks of it first." @lilysnox wrote, "The way he looks at you after each task like, 'Ok, what next?'" @hazrabutterbean said, "It frustrates me so much to see people with collies that don’t get worked, and then they wonder why they are so mental. This is a brilliant way to channel his energy! Well done!"
