This couple left no stone unturned to heal paralysed dog — after 4 months, he finally walked again

When someone you love suffers a devastating health crisis, you don't leave them alone, right? Rather, you do everything possible to make them feel comfortable and loved. In certain cases, even when the doctors lose hope, you stand there all determined to bring them back to health. And, just like that, most pet parents would also go to any extent to ensure their babies' well-being. That's exactly what Tereza Emingrova (@terryemi on Instagram) and her husband did for their dog, Dorian, when he was diagnosed with paralysis.

Even after the vet confirmed that there was no particular cure for his condition, the couple did not lose hope, and it was finally their resilience, love and care that allowed Dorian to finally manage to walk on his own. Emingrova's dog was diagnosed with polyradiculoneuritis, an inflammatory condition caused by an autoimmune reaction in his body. Dorian lost movement in all his limbs, and later, the paralysis spread to his neck and tail, leaving the dog fully dependent on his owners for even the basic daily chores.

"Our vet told us that this disease can be reversed. But there is no cure for it, only time. And no one knows how long it might take," she revealed. They even had to monitor Dorian's breathing so that the paralysis didn't spread to his diaphragm. "We also controlled his urination and turned him every few hours," Emingrova shared. To help their beloved dog get back on his legs, the couple arranged for a physiotherapist who assisted Dorian in doing useful exercises to help with his paralysis. Miraculously, after a month of physiotherapy sessions, Dorian could easily move his tail. However, just in two months, the dog lost 10 kg and even started getting bedsores.
"The days and nights were endless, and we had to be at home 24/7," Emingrova added. After countless challenges, the couple finally saw major improvements as their dog began playing with his favorite ball again. Notably, the woman shared that although the exact reason for Dorian's paralysis remains unknown, they assume that it was probably because of a vaccination. She wrote, "His illness was probably caused by vaccination, stress, or bacteria from raw meat. We don’t know what exactly caused it, but we are trying to support his immunity, and we are very careful about vaccination now," in the caption.

After physiotherapy, Emingrova began hydrotherapy for Dorian, which significantly helped him recover faster. Finally, after four months, the dog recovered, and for the first time since the diagnosis, he was able to walk on his own. "He needs to regain his muscles and balance, but we are so happy he made it and we have him back," the dog owner revealed. Towards the end of the wholesome, endearing video, Emingrova shared glimpses of Dorian freely walking in the open field, proving that love can defeat any challenges in life.

Meanwhile, @hallowedrainbow commented, "This is one of the most beautiful selfless acts of unconditional love that I have seen. May you always have a safe space and warm home. Blessings to your pup and family." @hollynateman wrote, "I hope the universe brings you nothing but joy and happiness and health for the rest of your days. To see this level of commitment to another creature is just awesome and inspiring, and I just wish you nothing but good things." @misterklaeboe shared, "Those cries of confusion got me bawling. I'm so happy he recovered."
