This pitbull has a very unique skill — it wakes up the moment someone peels a banana

Keeping dogs' favorite snacks away from them is quite impossible. No matter how hard you try to hide things, when it comes to food, they can smell it from a great distance. Don't believe us? Well, meet, Duke (@doganddadd on Instagram), an adorable pit bull who is obsessed with bananas. Even if he is fast asleep, this dog never fails to surprise his Dad with his uncanny ability to "smell bananas." Likewise, a hilarious Instagram video capturing Duke's wild fascination with the fruit has gone viral on social media.

In the incredible video, Duke was seen peacefully resting on the couch while his owner stood behind him, peeling a banana. The pet parent with utmost care, peeled the fruit without making any noise. Once the peel was off, he gently blew over the banana, hoping Duke would get the smell. The moment the dog actually got the smell, his eyes snapped open and he looked behind asking for his banana treat. "Do you smell the banana?" the man playfully asked, grinning, as he rewarded Duke with a small piece of his favorite snack. However, the quirky dog was craving more treats, so like a true gentleman, he sat in front of his owner, requesting some more bananas. "That's it. That's all you get. Are you a monkey?" the man spoke as he came towards Duke.

In another video, Duke's human companion shared how he behaves when he hears the ripping of the banana peel. The canine was sleeping on his bed when his owner peeled a banana in a completely different room. But like always, Duke heard it from a distance and came running to collect his food tax. "I thought I just had to pay the cheese tax but apparently it’s Bananas, hard-boiled eggs and blueberries as well. Nothing gets by the tax man Duke," the man shared in the caption.
