Watch this donkey request a tight hug from his favorite human, proving love knows no boundaries

Who says animals are not as emotional as humans? Although the way we express ourselves might be a little different from theirs, recognizing their feelings is equally important for peacefully coexisting in the world. While humans use words to express their cravings and desires, animals communicate through distinctive body language and gestures. This profound truth was highlighted when a man, who goes by @christophefriquet on TikTok, shared an emotional video capturing his donkey's request for a tight hug, highlighting their special bond.

In the now-viral video, a shopkeeper was seen working at his store when he heard a gentle knock on the door. When he turned back, the man found his beloved donkey waiting on the doorstep, as if requesting the man to let him inside. With a cheerful grin on his face, the man left his work and spread his arms, signaling the donkey to come towards him. Meanwhile, the adorable little mule entered the shop and walked straight to his favorite human. The shopkeeper took the donkey into a tight hug, gently kissing him all over the face.

Besides, when u/tightzone4173 shared the incredibly beautiful video on Reddit, it received an overwhelming response on the platform. For instance, u/bobdonowitz commented, "Humans are animals too. We're not any different. Most people are just too dumb to realize that we're all the same just with different cultures. People just tend to think they're superior to other animals because we understand ourselves easier." Similarly, u/kassassinscreed commented, "I believe most people around us are actually full of love and compassion, it's just that we created a society where love and compassion aren't directly rewarded, whereas other characteristics often not associated with love are actually being rewarded." u/thankeekaswitch wrote, "There's another donkey video I love where a girl who helped raise donkey comes to see it. The donkey calls out for her, runs over and starts nuzzling her. You can see the love the donkey feels for her. Gets me in the feels every time see it."

u/nyc01850 commented, "I absolutely love donkeys. Such wonderful animals. If anyone is interested, please look out for and donate to charities that protect donkeys. There is some unimaginable cruelty towards them out there in the world." u/mistagitgud wrote, "Every video I see of a donkey interaction, I'm always reminded of how wrongly stereotyped they are as idiots, which couldn’t be further from the truth."
On the other hand, u/sparewire wrote, "Mini donkeys really are just like dogs. They are all so good-natured. For the same, please stop buying them for your shitty little 5-acre plots. They became such a fad in Texas. They were overbred to the point that the state pays us to foster about 20 of them. Turns out the novelty wears off pretty quickly for most and then they get tired of them eating all the bark off your trees." u/liu_shui wrote, "They are basically giant dogs, but if you go outside barefoot, they may 'mistake' your toes for carrots or maybe the donkey we had was an a**."
