Woman finds 5 puppies dumped in a freezing field in Texas, knew she had to rescue them

Imagine you have just given birth, and someone just decides to put your newborn baby outside in the freezing weather. The thought itself is nerve-wracking, right? But we, as humans, forget that animals, too, experience similar emotions to us, though their way of expressing them is different. Many pet owners, unprepared for the responsibility of unexpected litters, often take the inhumane decision of abandoning them without a second thought. Likewise, Emily Blincoe, who goes by @emilyblincoe on Instagram, came across a similar incident when alerted by her dogs; she found a group of tiny puppies wandering in the frigid Texas weather.

Emily said she lives in a "land of dumped puppies," where chancing upon abandoned puppies isn't something rare; however, she never imagined someone could be cruel enough to dump such innocent animals on the coldest day of the year. Concerned by her dogs continuously yapping at something far away in the field, Emily decided to look closely, and what she found was just heartbreaking. "There is something there! Are those birds?" she asked, as she raised her camera, trying to identify those little moving creatures. Unable to figure it out, Emily stepped out of her house to investigate further and saw 5 puppies roaming in the open.
"Hi, babies! Look at the babies, come on, what are you puppies doing out here?" she asked, and the minute Emily called them, they came running, as if they had known her forever. "You're a bit too little to be out here in the snow. Let's go," she said, as the puppies followed her. Now, here's the thing: it was the very first time that Emily had met those puppies, but the way they reacted makes us believe that animals understand and reciprocate genuine love just like us. Fortunately, the poor puppies met Emily, who saved them just in time; however, not everyone experiences that kind of love. According to MARS, 1 in 3 pets are homeless worldwide. The report further estimated the presence of nearly 362 million homeless cats and dogs across 20 countries.
When Emily shared the beautiful story on social media, she received an outpouring of love, especially from people who appreciated her for rescuing the puppies. For instance, a user who goes by @nicole.marie.green on Instagram commented, "The absolute joy of them running to you is so heartwarming. The absolute sadness for them is combined with gratitude for people like you. You saved their little lives. Thank you!" @pablo said, "HEARTBREAKING that someone can just dump off innocent animals and puppies! Ugh. So glad you found each other."

Similarly, another user, @choosing_to_reset, revealed, "Our sweet Lumi was dumped in January in the snow 12 years ago. The creeps were particularly cruel because they put her inside the fence on our weekend property, where she had no chance of escape. If a neighbor hadn’t alerted us, she would surely have died. She’s the absolute best dog ever." @adventure.with.mabel said, "This absolutely breaks my heart, but all those puppies running toward you barking and happy move me to tears! You made them feel so safe!" @cat_shelters commented, "Makes me so sad for the mama dog who is missing her pups and didn't know what happened to them. Humans can be so cruel. Do the right thing; SPAY & NEUTER."
