Woman spotted dog always staring at the sea. When she learned the real reason, it moved her deeply

Dogs are known for their unwavering loyalty and their uncanny ability to love unconditionally. For these adorable furballs, their whole world centers around their owners, finding joy in every moment spent together. Similarly, in a heartfelt incident, a grieving dog, Vaguito, was captured waiting on the shores of a Peruvian beach, waiting for his fisherman owner to return, as reported by The Dodo. Notably, when Jolie Mejía (@jolsmr on Twitter) and her family were at Punta Negra, a small seaside community in Peru, they stumbled upon Vaguito, the adorable puppy, and that's when they learned about his story from a local.

"He didn’t seem abandoned. He wore a ribbon around his neck and his fur was clean. I pet him, waiting for his owner, but minutes passed and no one came," Mejía revealed. While Vaguito was enjoying the attention, his eyes were fixed on the ocean, as if, he were searching for something—or rather, someone. Meanwhile, Mejía and her family, assuming that the dog had been abandoned, were considering adopting Vaguito. To know more about the puppy, the woman approached a local man walking by and asked him if he knew anything about the dog. "He explained that practically everyone in the area knows the dog and is very fond of him. He told us that the dog’s owner was a fisherman who passed away some time ago and that the dog comes to the beach every day and stares out to sea," Mejía shared. 

Further, she shared that the dog's owner​ passed away at sea about a year ago when she first encountered him on the beach. Since then, Vaguito has been searching for him every day at the beach. “We were very moved. I have a dog at home. I love dogs in general. His story really touched my heart," Mejía added. Moreover, in her Twitter post, she revealed that Vaguito gets excited every time he spots a boat, hoping to find its owner. The bittersweet post received an overwhelming post on social media with several people deeply touched by Vaguito's story.

Similarly, reacting to the picture, @fcgarciaa8 commented, "My heart broke, the hope of that little dog to wait for his owner, I wish humans were as noble and loyal." @adrianamarces commented, "Beautiful dog, if they take the sea from you, they will take away your love and your memories. How good that you are taken care of, and that you have friends, and that the boats excite you even though they are making me cry right now. I picked up my 3 dog children from the beach and it is the best gift that the sea gave me."

@abrahamfernandez commented, "It makes me so sad to see these kinds of stories. Let's hope someone takes him in, takes care of him if he gets sick, and looks out for him!!! It's okay not to separate him from his love, the sea, but someone has to take care of him in case of an emergency or something else. I hope someone formally adopts him!" On the other hand, @isamalvides appreciated dogs' and commented, "They have a knack for generating so many beautiful things in us. I love them."
