Woman took 3 pregnancy tests after her cat started to sniff and paw her belly — then came the shocking results

A woman was so overwhelmed by her cat’s strange behavior that she took three pregnancy tests. A cat owner, who goes by u/Little_Orange2727 on Reddit, painted a picture of her pet, Tim, a sassy feline who could not care less about anything besides the owner’s husband. The cat usually liked keeping to himself, but his demeanor shifted anytime a pregnant person was around. This had caught the attention of his cat mom, who then found Tim suddenly clinging to her for the past few weeks.

The cat owner wanted to understand how her cat could possibly sense or predict pregnancy. Her decision to buy three pregnancy tests did not go to waste. All of them came out positive. “I just found out I'm pregnant. Took three pregnancy tests to be sure, and yep, all three are positive. The thing is, I'm pretty sure our cat, Tim, knew [sic] I'm pregnant before I did,” the post stated. Tim had been seeking her out for the past two weeks to sniff her belly, the owner claimed. Occasionally, the cat would gently paw her belly and talk to her in a sweet manner–quite atypical of him. “Tim isn’t usually this sweet with me! Because he sees me as the spare human in his house, so he ignores me all the time,” the owner mused.

To back up her claim, the pet owner shared that Tim behaves weirdly around pregnant family members and friends visiting their home. The typically lonesome cat would sniff their pregnant bellies and show behavior linked to affection. He would “rub his fluffy cheeks all over their baby bump for at least half an hour.” Moreover, “Tim isn’t even a very social cat,” the woman proclaimed. The only person the feline would choose in the world is her husband, and he clung to him all the time. “There is no one else in this whole wide world that he loves more than my husband. He just... barely tolerates everyone else, including me,” the owner noted.

Hence, Tim’s response to pregnant women was officially strange for the soon-to-be-mom as she watched him allow others to pet him while touching their pregnant bellies. She speculated whether her cat was “gifted” with some sort of sixth sense to predict pregnancy and encouraged fellow pet owners to share their experiences in the comments.
Have you ever felt like your pet has a sixth sense? If yes, how did you find out?

“One of my cats knew there was something wrong with me before I did! His behaviour completely changed towards me. My youngest daughter was 'his person'. But he suddenly became suffocatingly affectionate towards me,” wrote a cancer survivor (u/karmascoming4ux100), and u/VenezuelanIntrovert shared, “My cat, for some reason, can figure out when something is wrong in the house. The first time I noticed there was a house fire, no one knew about it, and he would not stop pointing to the place of the problem.” Hormones comprise a large proportion of a pregnancy, and cats can detect the odors of these chemical changes in a human with their acute sense of smell, per Healthline.
