Adopting an animal and giving it the best life possible is one of the most rewarding experiences in life. More than you choosing them, it is about how they choose you as their human companion. Likewise, when a sweet boy arrived at an animal shelter to adopt a cat, it seemed like the feline chose him first. The now-viral video, shared by u/garagaragaraa on Reddit, captured the heartwarming moment when the adorable kitten leaped onto the boy as if pleading for him to take it home.

When the boy gently opened his arms in front of the cat's cage at the shelter, the cat immediately hopped onto him, continuously pressing its face against his. Meanwhile, the boy also looked equally excited to find his new buddy. He held the cat in his protective embrace, ensuring its comfort and safety. Their meeting did not look like their first encounter; it was as if the duo had known each other for long. The video received an overwhelming response on social media with several people awe-struck at the cat's priceless reaction. Several cat owners resonated with the clip and shared their personal experiences in the comments.

For instance, u/tyoung1105 commented, "This has really hit me in the feels since we were just told last week our fur baby has cancer on his lip and can't do anything about it. My wife talks about how he chose her just like this." u/catnip323 commented, "My cat chose me. I went to an adoption event having previously spoken to the organizer about taking home one of the black kittens she had. When I arrived, a little calico reached out through the cage and tapped me several times on the arm. I picked her up and she did not stop licking my face. We have been together for over 12 years." u/supercodes83 commented, "Same thing happened to me as a kid. We went to the shelter and looked at a litter of kittens. The one we took home jumped and wrapped himself around my neck. It was fate." u/cloudkickers wrote, "Oh my goodness! This almost made me cry. I'm a strong-hearted individual. Stories like these are what this world needs more of."

u/sins-of-the-mother wrote, "This is how my baby Muffin chose me. She has aggressive cancer, I'm told by the vet she only has a few months left. She is the sweetest cuddliest chonk kitty in the world. I wish we could save her. Enjoy your fur baby every chance you get." u/skykingrpas wrote, "We had a cat rescue us. 19 years later, we can't go through that again. Thankfully, my daughter had a car rescue her from a deep depression. Then a feral kitten showed up on her doorstep and now she has 2. It's funny how cats dig them into your life." u/kilkarazy wrote, "When I adopted my cat the same thing happened. It was between a little grey kitten and a 3-year-old black and white cat that had been at the shelter for a few months. They opened the cage and the 3-year-old cat put his paws on my shoulders. Winston decided for me."
