A small moment outside a house in Panama City, Florida, turned into a memory the homeowner wouldn't ever forget . Vicky, the homeowner, had stepped past her front door just as an Amazon package was being set down, but the blinds were closed. The driver had no idea she was close enough to follow every move. She only meant to glance at the delivery, yet her attention shifted when he paused at the bowls of food she kept outside for wandering cats. Her Ring doorbell camera recorded everything as he set the package down, then moved toward the food bowls, knelt, and placed something small into the food. Later, she explained that he had pulled out treats he carried with him and placed them gently in the bowls she kept for “homeless cats.” The calm way he did it struck her even more than the act itself. Watching from inside, she suddenly felt she couldn’t stay quiet. She said the kindness “warmed my heart,” and that she found herself unlocking the door and calling out thanks as he jogged back to his truck, still unaware she had been watching the whole time. “I was so charmed by his offering."

Only 25 percent of feral kittens born outdoors make it past six months, which is why Vicky and her neighbors continue putting out food even though feral cats are usually seen as a problem. For them, the animals are simply trying to live. She is grateful the camera caught it clearly, giving others a chance to see a simple act that carried more care than he ever realized.
