Bride was confused when groom called them a ‘family of 3’ in his toast— then burst into tears when she saw the third member

When the groom mentioned becoming a family of three in his wedding toast, no one could have guessed the adorable new member about to join them.
As reported by Inside Weddings, Jenna Jarvi and Jeff Althoff were celebrating their wedding in 2017 when Jeff decided to surprise his bride with something deeply personal. Jenna had always been a huge dog lover, though the couple hadn’t yet taken the step of getting one together. What Jenna didn’t know was that Jeff had been secretly planning a special wedding gift for over a year, a British Labrador puppy. “Jenna has been nothing but amazing to me and deserved her dream gift,” Jeff shared.
On the morning of the wedding, Jeff quietly told his groomsmen and Jenna’s bridesmaids about the surprise he had planned for the reception. After a beautiful ceremony, it was time for Jeff’s groom’s toast. He asked Jenna to stand beside him and reflected on how special the day had been for them. Then came the big moment. “I decided to give you a wedding gift that was completely for you... It’s everything that you want,” Jeff said during the toast. “Would you agree with me that the last few hours have been the best hours of your life as a family of two? Well, I’m proud to announce that we have now become [sic] a family of three.”
As he finished his speech, a friend walked in carrying the tiny puppy, and Jenna’s reaction was pure joy. Her face lit up as she rushed to hold the dog, which was later named Bear. The sweet surprise quickly became a highlight of the wedding, and Jeff’s thoughtful gesture won hearts both at the reception and online once the video was shared. “She has been so in love,” Jeff later said, referring to Jenna’s bond with Bear.
