Couple rolled down their window at a Starbucks drive-thru to check on a clueless woman — seconds later, she handed them a life-changing gift
A couple headed out to get coffee from a Starbucks drive-thru but did not expect to return home with a life-changing gift. Kate and Ryan had spotted a woman walking by the drive-thru with something tucked in her arms. While they waited in line for their beverage, a daily ritual before heading off to work, Ryan noticed the woman and could not help but ask her about her adorable discovery. Soon, the couple was driving back home with a new family member.
It was a scorching hot day in August in South Carolina when the couple stumbled upon a special soul. Kate revealed that the woman was walking past their car when Ryan rolled down his window and asked her if she had just found the kitten in her arms, as revealed in an interview with The Dodo (@TheDodo). An affirmative response later, the woman informed, “I can’t keep it. I don’t know anything about taking care of animals.” Ryan cried happy tears while holding the small kitten. He expressed his love for the baby feline, and the woman did not hesitate to hand it over to him. Just like that, the couple adopted a stray kitten. “Oh God, I think we have three cats now,” Kate sighed, watching her emotional partner. Ryan was completely smitten by the tiny kitten and decided to take her home to a new, blessed life.
Right after getting coffee, the couple stopped at the pet store to get some formula for the kitty. “I was like, ‘I can think of nothing else oter than how much I already love this tiny thing,'” he said. While it was not an easy affair taking care of a frail little kitten weighing less than a pound, the couple was determined to give her the best life possible. An unfortunate accident left the kitten wearing a cast that was bigger than she was a few weeks after the rescue. The couple named her Clover, inspired by the lucky four-leaf clover and the moment they met her at the Starbucks drive-thru. Meanwhile, Kate watched the duo’s “amazing” relationship blossom in front of her eyes.
Clover was not the only pet the couple had. They introduced the cat to their other pet dogs after having spent a few days alone to help her get accustomed to the new environment. Macaroni, their Corgi, was intrigued by his feline companion and tried to bond with her. “She’s become what feels like the missing piece that we didn’t even know we were missing,” Ryan noted. The post brought in 277,000 views and 16,000 hearts from people touched by Clover’s journey. “What a great couple to rescue her without a second thought,” wrote @12thDecember, and @planettag310 said, “The sight of a grown man weeping over a tiny kitten just makes my day!” @patthenry3568 marked, “The cat distribution system is a miracle machine.”
