In the hilarious video, Mendoza began by showing a close-up of her destroyed sandal. Slowly, she raised the camera to capture her dog, who—caught in the act—instantly pretended to be fast asleep to escape the blame. Simultaneously, the overlay text on the screen read, "It's the fake sleeping for me." A few moments later, convinced that she outsmarted her mom, the dog cautiously opened her eyes—only to find her mother already staring right at her. Swayed by her pup's dramatic escape act, Mendoza asked, "How can I be mad at her?" in the caption. 

The video received an overwhelming response on social media with over 4 million views online.
