A heart-warming story of a rescue dog surfaced on the internet recently and left everyone in tears. The video compilation was uploaded on Instagram under the username @notanexactscience_ by Robyn, garnering more than 959K views and 124,419 likes since it was published on February 18, 2025. The dog in question was trapped in a garage, forcefully bred for babies, without any exposure to nature, light, or other dogs. After what felt like an eternity, she was adopted by a loving human who was hellbent on giving her a calm and beautiful life.

The video was captioned, "We do not deserve dogs," and shared the adopted dog's entire story through onscreen texts. "POV: You spent five years locked in a garage, forced to have puppies, so everything is new to you. You have never seen or heard running water. You have never tasted nutritious food. You have never felt grass on your paws. You have never slept in a real bed, just a sheet of cardboard."

The texts continued further, "You have never seen cars or walked on a leash. You wake up shaking, scared you are back in that place. You have never felt belly rubs or the kindness of humans. You have never ridden in a car or ever seen another dog. But now you have experienced all of that in a week, and soon you will have the life you were always supposed to."

The video also used hashtags like #adoptdontshop in its caption, spreading awareness and urging more people through the platform to adopt from animal shelters instead of breeders, who often practice unethical breeding practices, as in the case of this dog.

According to a report by the National Library of Medicine, unethical breeding practices in the U.S. involve puppy mills, resulting in health issues, overpopulation of dogs, and poor conditions. These practices often lead to overcrowded shelters and high euthanasia rates, with approximately 3.1 million dogs entering animal shelters annually and 390,000 euthanized each year.

The Instagram clip drew immense attention, with many users dropping positive reactions in the comment section as well. One user, @maddiehahn_, wrote, "So well behaved for a doggy who has seen and experienced nothing." Another user, @kasia_lenise, shared, "Crying, thank you for saving her and showing her the world she deserves to see."

@therealmc7 commented, "It makes me sick. The things humans do to animals. Breeding dogs for financial gain. Dogs that can’t breathe, nonetheless. Thank you for loving her!" @nybulldogsisters shared, "Thank you for saving the baby girl." These beautiful stories are exactly what remind us of the kindness still out there and how some humans extend their hand to the ones who can't speak up for themselves." @detailing_thh concluded, "As a bulldog lover, I thank you, these are the most genuinely loving dogs and deserve a good home." It takes the bare minimum to be a human being, and it would be nice to see all global citizens rise to that standard.
