ER vet noticed a dog and its skittish owner showing the same symptoms during a 7 a.m. visit — a blunt confession about the cause left him stunned

Dr. Drew, an emergency veterinarian, recently found himself in an unexpected situation that left him both stunned and a bit amused. It was around 7 a.m. when a man and his dog walked into the ER, both displaying similar symptoms. At first, Dr. Drew thought little of it, chalking up the man’s skittish behavior to simple anxiety. But what the owner confessed next would leave anyone in disbelief, and it was a story Dr. Drew couldn’t wait to share with his followers. On December 11, 2025, he posted a TikTok video recounting the bizarre incident that left everyone shocked. 

In the video, Dr. Drew, under his TikTok handle @thejunglevet, gave his followers a peek into the wild world of emergency vet care. He explained how the owner seemed nervous and restless, much like the dog, but then dropped a bombshell. When asked about the dog's condition, when the signs started, and what the owner thought "may have caused it," the man then gave an instant response and a big revelation. He admitted to sharing a controlled substance with his pet, saying the dog had “done a lot” of it with him. “I have seen a lot of crazy things... not just from a pet perspective, but from a person perspective,” Dr. Drew expressed while narrating the incident. He couldn’t believe his ears. This was certainly a first in his years of practice. Dr. Drew also pointed out how rare it is for pet owners to be so upfront about such things. “For things like marijuana, owners usually lie, and we have to go down the rabbit hole with the tests,” he explained. However, this man’s honesty made it easier for Dr. Drew to assist him.

Despite the shock, Dr. Drew praised the owner’s honesty, noting that it made his job easier. He also humorously pointed out that this particular incident happened at 7 a.m., raising the question of someone indulging in a dangerous habit early in the morning. Thankfully, the dog was monitored and stabilized without serious issues. "It must not have been that much," he commented on the illegal substance ingestion. Dr. Drew then assured viewers, “The dog did well, and after a little bit of monitoring, he went home.” The vet ended his post on a lighter note, expressing appreciation for the laugh and the owner's openness. Naturally, the internet users joined in on the amusing incident as well and dropped their reactions in the comment section. @mdgirl6464 wrote, "Thankfully, he was honest!" Most pet dogs have found themselves in similar situations, especially when it comes to young, curious pups. In a recent incident, a Golden Retriever named Hazel was rushed to the emergency vet after she couldn’t stand up and had urinary issues. It turned out that Hazel had eaten some of her owner’s edibles during a walk, leaving her "higher than a kite" and causing a wild and costly vet visit. The owner, Ella, later joked that Hazel was "seeing sounds" from the effects. The entire ordeal cost Ella $600, but it was a relief to know that Hazel’s behavior was simply the result of a very unexpected snack.
