Famed fashion designer sent gorgeous models down the runway carrying puppies — and the beautiful motive left viewers in awe
Recently, a runway show captured attention for its unique combination of glamour and adorable companions. In an interview on Thursday, November 13, 2025, a famed designer had models walk the runway with puppies in their arms, creating a scene that charmed everyone watching. As the models strutted gracefully, each holding a small dog, it was clear that the show was unlike any other seen before and even carried a good cause.
As reported by Fox 5 New York, designer Marc Bouwer teamed up with North Shore Animal Shelter, a no-kill organization, for a recent photoshoot and the interview as well. The designer, who created Whitney Houston’s wedding dress and other timeless pieces for stars like Beyoncé, Charlize Theron, Angelina Jolie, Sydney Sweeney, and more, spoke about his long-standing support for the shelter, highlighting his commitment to causes beyond fashion. During the interview, he said, “Once you have a voice, it’s important to have a cause, and I always loved animals and I love fashion, so combining the two is like nirvana for me.” Bouwer also noted the challenges animals face, explaining that thousands of puppies, senior dogs, cats, and other animals are euthanized every day simply because they cannot find a home. "So we say, please don’t shop, adopt."
The runway was filled with lively moments as models displayed carefully vaccinated puppies. A model in a bright neon dress carried a Shih Tzu named Macy, while another walked with a Yorkshire Terrier named Oliver. Bouwer couldn’t hide his excitement, saying, “I would adopt this dog if I could. That is Oliver, the sweetest little thing.” He shared that the shelter allows adopters to spend time with animals in dedicated rooms before making a decision. Another model carried a seven-year-old Chihuahua named Sophia, whom Bouwer described as “so sweet, what a little angel.” He also reminded viewers that adoption does not require fees, though donations are encouraged, especially during colder months, and that every adoption helps make space for other animals in need.
Bouwer also discussed his fashion work, mentioning his holiday collection designed for red carpet season and events through the Oscars. Despite the elegance of the gowns, he shared personal stories about his own rescue pets, including a black kitten recently adopted from the shelter and featured in a photoshoot. He also mentioned that he specifically wanted to adopt the black cat, knowing how difficult it can be for them to find homes due to common superstitions. “The love of an animal is something so unique and so wonderful,” he expressed at the end of the interview. “Even if you do have children, it’s a very special bond that you have between you and your animal, and it gives you such joy. It’s an incredible experience.” Through the blend of fashion and furry companions, Bouwer created a show that was both stylish and unforgettable, leaving a lasting impression on all who watched.
