Golden Retriever decides friar's belt is his new favorite toy and doesn't let go in hysterical video

Most dogs are just as possessive about their toys as human kids. But what if someone tries to take away their favorite toy without asking? You might get to see classic puppy-dog eyes or an adorable game of chase! Something similar was witnessed when an irresistibly playful Golden Retriever fell head-over-heels for a friar's belt, refusing to let go. The pup's sheer love and determination for his newfound "toy" had everyone in stitches, proving that dogs, too, can find joy in the most unexpected ways! The Instagram reel shared on Imagens Brasil (@imagensbrasiltda on social media) has received an overwhelming response on the platform, with over 4 million views online.

In the now-viral video, the Golden Retriever was captured pulling the friar's belt, surrounded by people who stopped to watch the surprising tug-of-war game in the middle of the street. The monk tried to give a tough time to the dog, trying his best to reclaim his belt from the stubborn puppy's mouth, but he failed miserably. At one time, the dog's owner also tried to intervene, but it looked like the canine was not in the mood to listen to anyone! Interestingly, just when the monk thought the game was finally over as the dog left his belt, a toddler crawled up to the scene, grabbing the belt in his mouth—much to everyone's surprise! Simultaneously, the overlay text written in Portuguese read, "Blessing of animals on Saint Francis of Assisi Day...And Golden (Retriever) decided the friar's belt was his new toy."
Meanwhile, reacting to the Instagram reel, @alexandreescame commented, "Usually, we friars want to take them home, so beautiful! Lol! But in this case, he wanted to take the friar!" @valdecialexandre shared, "I laughed more when the other friend straightened the child's head as if he was a dog too!" Similarly, @gilmara_ps revealed, "What a cutie! My English Bulldog drank Benta’s water out of the bucket that was put on the floor, lol!" @nandaamelo3, who interpreted the Golden Retriever's point of view, shared, "Little one said, 'If you can't help, get in the way. The important thing is to participate!' Lo!" @elizabethaguiar98 said, "The interesting thing is that the Golden Retriever's tutor went to address the situation. On the other hand, human parents...poor friar!" @blancatavares2016 said, "Cute puppy, but don't miss the kid wanting to be the main character."

@gislainekellner shared, "Dogs are like children, so innocent! I love these creatures!" On the other hand, @marcelafranca73, who was a bit concerned about the child, wrote, "Adults who were not worried and were filming, not realizing the child's security. If the dog sees him as a rival and decides to bite, whose fault would it be?" @camilasantos shared, "What that kid at the end is the new way of receiving your blessings!" @atelieclairemaria, who praised the monk's priceless reaction, shared, "I loved the friar's reaction. Very polite, calm, and caring. May God bless you!" @hitlernilsoncosta96 pointed out, "The friar stroking his little boy's head at the end, but I’m sure what he wanted to do was something else." @rosamffonseca commented, "What a blessing! What puppy love! And the kid is miming! May Saint Francis bless them!"
