Husband wondered why their two dogs suddenly wore new collars — broke down after reading the message from his wife on the tags

She hadn’t felt her best for weeks and started to suspect something exciting might be happening.

A heartwarming video shared by @LeotheCream on the YouTube channel Leo the Cream Golden Retriever featured a unique and wholesome surprise lovingly planned by a wife for her husband. In the clip, a woman decided to share some life-changing news with her husband in a way that involved their two beloved cream-colored Golden Retrievers. Her idea? A trip to the pet store to pick out new collars and tags for the dogs, setting the stage for a moment he would never forget.

As seen in the video, the woman began by narrating her story from the car, explaining she hadn't been feeling her best for a few weeks and had a “sneaky suspicion” about what might be going on. “I just got to PetSmart because I want the dogs to help me announce to my husband that I am pregnant...if the pregnancy test is indeed positive,” she shared. While browsing the aisles, she also decided, “I think I’m gonna get them new collars too. The dogs rarely wear collars, but that will force Carson to look at the tags.”

After picking out the collars, she had the tags engraved with one reading “Big Brother Leo” and the other “Big Brother Louie.” Once back home, the emotional moment unfolded. She took a pregnancy test, recorded herself holding it up while surrounded by her two dogs, and softly said, “Oh God, we did it...I am pregnant.” With tears in her eyes, she looked at her pups and asked, “You are excited to be big brothers?” before cuddling them and adding, “How are we gonna tell your dad?”

The surprise plan came together quickly. She fitted the dogs with their new collars, attached the positive pregnancy tests using a hair tie looped through the collars, and waited for her husband to come home. As the dogs ran to greet him, he noticed something was different. “What?” he asked, puzzled. She prompted him, “You gotta look at them.” He checked the collars, pulled out the tests, and then read the engraved tags. Overwhelmed, he embraced her with tears in his eyes, saying simply, “Babe.” The video with the caption, "Finding out I was pregnant was such a whirlwind! Leo and Louie fed off of our excitement, and I loved being able to share this news with their dad using their help," was posted a year ago and continues to warm hearts online.
