New mom took pregnancy test after her horse kept ‘inspecting’ her belly — the unexpected results stunned her

Animals often surprise us with their instincts, sensing things we can’t quite explain. One woman recently shared a moment with her horse that, at first, seemed ordinary, but later took on a much deeper meaning. Kristen Michele Oakley, who goes by the handle @theweenwrangler on TikTok, posted a video in March 2025 that left viewers amazed. What started as a simple visit to the barn with her baby turned into something much more surprising. When Oakley’s family horse kept nudging her belly, she had no idea he was trying to tell her some good news was on the way.

As reported by Newsweek, the video showed Oakley holding her child while greeting her family’s 25-year-old horse, Suds. The horse gave his usual friendly sniffs to both of them, but his behavior quickly shifted. He lowered his head and began sniffing Oakley’s stomach, then paused to give her a side-eye glance. While it may have seemed like a random moment, Oakley noticed something familiar. "He did the same thing when I was pregnant the first time!" she shared with the outlet. That small act was enough to make her take a pregnancy test.

To her shock, the test came back positive. Two blue lines confirmed what Suds seemed to already know. In the caption of her TikTok video, Oakley joked, “Suds was an OBGYN in his past life. This is the second time he has let me know I was pregnant before I knew. We don’t deserve animals!” Oakley added that she hadn’t planned on taking a test until Suds gave her that nudge. The story struck a chord with viewers, reaching over 970.1K views since being posted online. Many internet users also shared their own stories of animals sensing pregnancies before any symptoms appeared.

@andreanicolescudder shared in the comment section, "My mare, who is normally not super lovey dovey, did this both pregnancies!" @anahil2000 wrote, "Horses always know. I have a gelding who I owned for six months at the time got really clingy to me and would try to attack the other horses if they got too close to me, and I was seven weeks pregnant." @kendallretherford commented, "My stud started to be extra sweet to me before I found out, along with the German Shepherd stuck to me like glue." @devonwolfe95 added, "We were at a petting zoo and I was getting surrounded by goats! Tested a week later."

It is indeed not the first time a pet animal has detected pregnancy. In a similar incident, a family discovered their usually independent dog had sensed a pregnancy before they did. He followed her, sniffed her constantly, and lay on her belly instead of his usual spots. A week later, she found out she was pregnant. "He was trying to tell me something," she said, realizing he had been giving hints all along.
