Owner rushed her sick Labrador to the vet after she fell ill — but what showed up on the X-ray had her thanking popular underwear brand

Sometimes, when our pets aren’t feeling their best, the reason behind it can be surprisingly unexpected. That was the case recently with one chocolate Labrador whose mystery illness turned into something no one saw coming. It started as a routine visit to the vet, but quickly turned into a moment of shock and disbelief for everyone involved. Stella, a chocolate Lab from Alberta, Canada, was brought to Cochrane Animal Clinic after her owners noticed she wasn’t acting like her usual self. The veterinary team ran tests and took X-rays to investigate what was going on. What they discovered left everyone stunned.

As reported by Newsweek, the X-rays showed a faint white circle between Stella’s ribs, and on closer inspection, a very familiar logo could be seen. It turned out Stella had swallowed not just one or two, but eight pairs of Lululemon underwear. The Instagram post, shared on June 25, 2024, included X-rays showing the logos clearly visible in her stomach, with the clinic even giving a shoutout to Lululemon for their logo's unexpected visibility on radiographs. "Oh, Stella, what have you gotten yourself into? Huge shout out to @lululemon for having logos that are visible on radiographs!" read the caption of the viral Instagram video shared by @cochraneanimalclinic.

Stella had to undergo surgery to remove the underwear, but thankfully, the operation went smoothly. “We were with the owners and were just happy to find the reason for why Stella wasn’t feeling well!” the clinic remarked. “We’d never seen the logos pop out like that on radiographs," they added.

Since it was posted, the video has gained more than 5 million views, drawing amused and concerned reactions from users. Many people were surprised that a dog could eat that much fabric, while others were just relieved to hear Stella made a full recovery. @chesador_trip wrote, "So glad that you are all right, and I did not know so many pairs of underwear could fit in a tummy, or that the logo could show up on an X-ray." @debrabalas recounted, "My sister's Lab did the same thing back to the doctors at least three times. So bad, of course, the kids never picked up their clothes and then left them on the floor, and the dog got into them."

But this isn't the first time a furry companion has made an unconventional meal out of something unexpected. In another amusing incident, Michaela Pearson shared the surprising story of how her family dog, Amber, became the unlikely culprit in the disappearance of her mom's diamond wedding ring. After the ring went missing, Michaela’s mom called her in tears. When the family noticed Amber acting oddly, they wondered if the dog had swallowed the ring. They borrowed a metal detector, and when they scanned over Amber’s stomach, it beeped rapidly. Sure enough, the ring was eventually retrieved safely, leaving everyone laughing.
