A funny encounter from a routine police operation between a cop and a dog has become the internet's favorite moment. The video, which was originally filmed last October, exploded in popularity when it was shared by TikTok user @della_anton, racking over 692.5K views. The incident occurred in Albany, Eastern Perth, Australia, when officers arrived to serve a Violence Restraining Order (VRO). As they prepared to hand over the documents, the family dog decided to collect them for the family, thus snatching the paperwork from the officer’s hands and running off with it.

Paris Subertin from the Western Australia Police Force revealed the reason behind releasing the video, saying, "We shared this footage simply for a laugh. Our officers face incredibly challenging situations every day, so when two of them stumbled upon such a funny scene, it was hard not to share." Subertin continued, "It's not every day that a dog steals VRO papers, and we figured it was one of those moments that just had to be seen to be believed." Although the dog’s antics caused a brief delay, the officers were eventually able to serve the papers. The officers were initially sent to a residence occupied by a Sovereign Citizen, which made the VRO delivery more complicated. A Sovereign Citizen is described as someone who traditionally "sought to dissociate from society and refuse to engage with societal requirements like paying tax," reports Newsweek.

The hilarious clip sparked plenty of reactions in the comments, proving that even police work has its moments of humor. One user, @ashley.gardiner, commented, "The way he comes back for seconds, too." @princessofdeath333 joked, "Imagine having to go back to work and be like the dog ate it." @bikes.trucks.beck01 wrote, "Nope, not acceptable, if the excuses weren't acceptable at school for homework, then he can't use it either." @screwdriver_the_lombax shared, "Police man: The dog ate my warrant. Police chief: Very funny, now where's the warrant?"

@della_anton WA Police Some may not think it paw-sible, but Albany Police have unleashed a new way of serving documents. Rather than hounding the respondent, they have devised a fetching idea as illustrated in this video. #australianpolice #australia #bodycam #police #policeaustralia #WApolice #westernaustralia #westisbest #westernaustraliagoverment #copswatch #wacops #westernaustralian #cops #bustedbythefeds #arrested #dogs #dogsoftiktok #policedogsoftiktok #dogcop #albany #perthpolice #albanypolice #wagov ♬ original sound - Della

Elsewhere, another adorable video depicting a dog's antics had everyone in stitches. A group of dogs was playing in the yard when one of them, a usually quiet German shepherd, surprised everyone by howling for the very first time. The moment was captured on the owner, Alyssa's, CCTV, which she later shared on her social media account. The reaction of the fellow canines was priceless when they first heard the German shepherd howl. The sound they had never heard before made them pause what they were doing and look up in confusion.  Alyssa later revealed who taught the GS to finally howl. "White dog is the resident howler haha!"
